    It's a Zalman. I found it on Amazon and it had nothing but great reviews. It's a little more expensive than the other available cooling pads, but everyone in the reviews said it was worth it. :D

    Yes! I just got home, and found a package by my door. It was my Belkin messenger bag and my dad's surge protector. Then I called the order status system and my lappy is shipped! What a great day. :) I might get it by friday afterall.

    edit: checked the dell site and the new estimated delivery date is friday.

    Well, I just received the Fedex tracking number, and it was picked up at around 11 this morning. It isn't In Transit yet, and its in Nashville. I wish I could go to Tennessee right now and get it! :p

    At 8 am today, my laptop was "picked up", and at 9 am the "Shipment information [was] sent to FedEx". Estimated delivery date is Tuesday. I got the 3-5 day shipping, so I'm pretty sure I'm not getting an early weekend delivery, but does anyone here happen to know what capacity Fedex ground operates at on weekends? Will my computer be on a moving truck, or will it just sit in a warehouse all weekend?

    I got my lappy!! I came home from school to see the box on the dining room table. :)

    So i opened it and its all running now. I am still yet to add some of my games, firefox, etc, but i'm really happy with it.

    Unless the ground delivery is marked for *Saturday* delivery it prob's will not arrive :( sorry to say. It may be stored on the truck if it was inbetween delivery. I bet it will be delivered Monday or Tuesday.

    Now you can get on to completely *owning* that lappy! :D

    I've been doing some research, and I have determined that FedEx ground does not do home deliveries on weekends or Mondays with standard 3-5 day shipping. Also; from my experience and other's, it looks like the planes usually Leave Penang in the evening, and arrive in Nashville in the morning (US Time). I was really curious about those things when I was waiting for my laptop to ship, maybe someone else will find this helpful. If the FedEx estimated delivery date is correct, my computer will get to my house 8 days after I ordered it; 14 days before Dell's initial estimate. :rolleyes:

    I do miss the waiting, because it keeps me from falling asleep during classes.... :p

    But i am excited because I'm getting a wireless router today and i can finally use the internet anywhere in the house. :D

    So my laptop came about a week before the estimated delivery date, a day before the estimated ship date, so i got it about 9 days after i ordered it. That's pretty good, compared to some people's lappies that take weeks, or even months to get to them.

    after using this computer for awhile, my desktop computer seems slower than a snail. :rolleyes: :eek:

    I ordered my 1340 on 3/23. It is supposed to ship no later than 4/1. I just called and it is still in the "build" stage. UGH! How long!?

    It will prob's start moving in the next few days, I would imagine..The EST is normally over estimated..to protect in case of potential part delays, etc.

    I know it's hard, once you order, that waiting part..gets in your mind and stays there. As, you get in the *I want it now...mode* ;)

    Nobody knows what is going at DELL. DELL Denmark could not even update me on my order. I ordered my XPS 16 on the 3/19 and it was estimated to arrive at my doorstep @ 4/1. But today the date has been pushed 14(!!!) days, not even an e-mail from them to say what the delay was about.

    It has been in production since 3/19 - I can't check for a status like you guys(kitting, testing etc) as DELL DK cannot provide that to me..Now it will take a month to deliver an laptop, which is FAR from impressive and i'm less than satisfied with the information i have recieved so far. I probably wouldn't mind it being shipped 14 days late, stuff happens - parts are maybe not in, but with the lack of help and information from DELL it's just not cool.

    Contact your Rep, or a Rep....and ask specifically why your lappy is still in the *build* stage. :D Ask for a Case Number, and for someone to be assigned to your Order..and to keep in touch with you as it flow's thru production.

    My 1730 was originally scheduled for 3-31 delivery, then slipped to 4-7, and now 4-10 :( My cooling pad, ordered on Sunday, got here today! LOL

    Edit: just got an e-mail from Dell asking for my consent to allow the date to be pushed out to 4-13 now -- supply shortage ayeeeeeee!!!!!!!!! :)

    Called the status # and kept getting "in the build stage"
