Anyone receive 1520's lately?

Ordered mine on 11/26 and recieved it on 12/4. A week faster than the EDD. I'm happy.

 

@zeuice - wont be lucky until i actually get it!!! one thing ive learnt from these forums is not to trust the ESD or EDD... i got a good date lined up... but will it turn up on or before? watch this space...
I wouldnt be that bothered that they delayed anything as long as they have a good reason, or gave me options to not cause any delay, eg, upgrade a part or change spec slightly.

@WelshBluebird - yeah, seems like you got the same timeframe as i got quoted, lets hope they stick to it for both of us...

@Bowsey - they change there offers every thursday, giving new offers and new e-value codes for the products... still, there is nothing different that affects weather this model has it as standard... they have only had the new offers for a day, have they forgotten the previous 7-days offers all ready? they seem to love plugging their premium rate phoneline...

@Bombers - well done matey, but were all talking about dell uk (made in ireland?) nice to see our stateside cousins are getting them delivered fast, even from malasia, will be a week for me tomorrow since ordering... would be chuffed if they got it to me tues/wens

all this bitting im doing and i havent even got my lappy yet

when i get it im sure it will be ok

still... aslong as it plays TF2, COD4, UT3 and other stress-releaving shooters, ill be more than happy

 

Yeah, it's not overnight now ~ but I'm not complaining. It'll get here on the 11th, which was at the beginning of the original arrival window, so I'm not complaining!

It seems my laptop has been actual Production about the same time as yours, so I'm hoping mine will ship any day now too =(
Does it actually say Shipped on your Order Status page? and did you get a track number? or was it something an Agent told you?

My order status page shows "Shipped" and a tracking number. No news from any agents.

 

That's pretty cool. It seems it even skipped the Boxing stage.

The best thing one can do is contact customer service either via phone, e-mail or chat and get them to expedite your order and give you a free upgrade of your shipment method to next business day.

And be patient and try not to think about it.

 

I ordered a 1520 on 11/28 with an expected ship date of 12/6. I received an email saying shipping was delayed until 12/17. I went to customer service chat and asked if they could upgrade me to free overnight shipping instead of cancelling my order. They did the free shipping upgrade. I don't know if it's just a coincidence but my 1520 is now showing as "shipped" and the order status shows a DHL Express tracking number with delivery this Monday.

 

The automated line told me I was in boxing last night, but the order status page never did. XD

Haha, the DHL delivery guy will show up with just my lappy and some cables, looking quite confused.

When I first ordered my dell 1520 on Dec 1. .. The date of delivery was Dec. 28,2007. Then I found out they cancelled it and repordered it on Dec. 5. They told me it would come on Dec. 21. !!

Well I just received an email that said they are having trouble with delivery and it is now the 27th. Interesting !!!

The status site, however, still states the 21st as the delivery time... I hope it is the 21st, but I'm not holding my breath.

How is everyone else doing ?

 

HOLY HELL! I've been apsent all day today, thank god, and I just got home, and guess what!! My laptop has already been shipped! IT's ALREADY ON THE SHIPPED STATUS!!! That's freaking awesome, let me go see if I have a tracking number.

Ordered middle of Nov. with the specs in sig, received within 1-1.5 weeks.

 

Mine should be coming in next week, 13th, hopefully. By the way, it looks like I'm the only one that got the Alpine White. xD I like simplicity I guess =/

 

I was actually going to go with the Alpine White, and it was my initial order, but I cancelled it long before getting the Espresso Brown.

 

I keep going on the dell site and it keeps changing the backorder items on the site. My order has been changed by them twice. They took out the ear bugs and repaced them with a 15 month Mcafee virus program. I am still stuck in production since they changed my order date by cancelling and reordering.

I am now the 27 after being the 21st.

 

That's really frustrating. Have you tired talking to a rep about it at all?

 

I think that's the best you can do, contact a Customer Service Representative, or even a Sales Representative to know what's the problem with the parts. After all the impatience, I think you should not trust the Shipping Date, and the fact that it's now the 27th, rather than the 21st would mean it's delayed, yes.. but not until that actual posted date. I'd say your best bet is to contact a sales rep, especially if they are changing parts you paid for, for parts that are much cheaper, or even harder for software.

 

I agree, talk to a rep and see what they can do for you.

Jalex, who's the carrier for your lappy? Mine is DHL and my status hasn't moved beyond "Shipment Acknowledged." Damn weekends! XD

 

My carrier is also DHL Express. I actually think they deliver on weekends, at least on Saturdays. My shipment is supposed to arrive in Miami by Monday, and at 8:11pm yesterday, Saturday December 8th, the package was already in transit through the Orlando, FL, facility.

 

Looks like you'll be getting your laptop ahead of me! It seems as though mine may get here on Wednesday rather than Tuesday seeing as there have been no updates on my DHL tracking page.

You'll have to post some pics of yours when it gets here! =D

I live in Maryland too. It's funny how they ship it 2 and 1/2 weeks before the estimated shipping date. It can confuse a lot of people. I had to call and tell them to ship it back to Maryland since I had since changed the shipping address to California. Dell also credited me $40 because the previous tech misled me and told me there wouldn't be any extra taxes if I choose to ship the laptop to California instead of Maryland. I gotta say, Dell's tech support might not be the best informed, easiest to understand or truthful at times, but they are very generous.

 

Well, there's a good side to a bad side, Haha.
My laptop was delivered today 12/10 .. the package just arrived little over an hour ago, nontheless I was not there to receive it
I'm out of town for a week, the laptop is at home, but I won't be able to use it or even see it until I get back
but it's delivered, that's great news.

 

At least it gives you something to long forward to, I guess? Congrats!

woohoo,mines finally gone to prepared to be shipped, so hopefully ship soon. The bad news is if they don't deliver after 4 there will be no-one there to get it, and I'm at uni and there delivering it to home, so I've got to wait till friday,when im going home, where hopefully there will be a package for me

 

Even though they don't deliver after 4, you could just go to the Facility and pick it up yourself any day.

I checked my shipment status, and it's still in Production. And it's 2 days before delivery, I highly doubt that's enough time to ship it over here in Canada on the EDD. Am I assuming correctly?

Yeah, unfortunately you're right. Dell will probably send you an email saying its been delayed. You should try chatting with Dell and seeing if you can get your speeding expedited.

True, but I don't know where walsh western (dell uk shipping company) are based. I think in coventry, and thats like 150 miles from me.
