1520 Midnight Blue Waiting Room

Just got email for fourth delay, this time for close to another
three weeks.
Will be just a couple of days short of two months if and when it finally is shipped. I am glad others are getting thiers, but can't understand why when some of them ordered after me.

 

Well I just got my first delay and new ESD.
It's says that it's 9/16 but I'm not sure how they are figuring that since I'm already in Boxing. Hopefully they're just padding their window.

 

Just got off dell chat, was told it was color and processor that is delay now. First time was color, second was processor, third was color. See any pattern to there maddness. Asked for discount, but only got 100 credit. Not sure if it is for this order or next order. And that is when it is shipped if ever.

 

Ordered my midnight blue 1520 on 8/6 and have had an ESD of 9/5 since then. Hopefully it stays that way or is only a slight delay as I need it for college at the end of September.

Ok so either you can't trust the status line or you can't trust the CSR's. Either way, I'm not playing this game any more. Good luck to anyone who is still waiting and hopefully someone who ordered a system with my specs can get theirs that much quicker because of this.
(I would suspect this is part of Dell's strategy to catch up to demand, note the strong sell to keep me as a customer.)

So I just contacted Dell CS and informed them that the same lappie I bought on 8/27/07 is now $100 cheaper and they gave me $100 off my order without having to re-order. WOOhooo!!!

Mine finally shipped today! How long does it usually take to ship/arrive? I would really like to have my new laptop for my second week of classes!

 

Mine shipped too Rusho. I'm on my crappy 9 year old desktop Dell Dimension 8100 typing this right now as I glare into a 17' in. crappy bulky monitor. I think we'll recieve our notebooks by tomorrow.

 

You guys that got your laptops shipped, how long were you in boxing? This is day 3 of boxing for me and I'm gonna be real annoyed if I have to wait extra because it gets shipped over a weekend.

 

I don't know exactly how many days but I'm guessing 3-4 days.

Well I just signed up here in order to help pass the time before I receive my own Midnight Blue 1520. I ordered it on August 21st, Conformed on the 22nd, and has been In Production ever since. My ESD is 9/27 and my arrival date isn't until October 3rd-4th! However, I did just chat with a rep and she said that she looked at my order and said there are no delayed parts and confirmed that my order is currently being assembled.

Maybe I shouldn't get my hopes up! lol

 

Chase, I went into Boxing sometime between this past Monday evening and Tuesday morning.

 

Chase, I was only in boxing for 2 days. Also, congrats Weeeee! I hope you're right about getting it tomorrow.

 

I talked online today, and I guess I went into shipping today... But was told Purolator wouldnt have it for another 3 business days??? Was given a tracking number though

 

I really have no information for you Amy... I haven't received my tracking # yet or at least I don't think I have. I'm not too familiar with Purolator but cross your fingers! They might have it sooner!

 

Rusho I suggest you give DHL a call to make sure yours ships tomorrow. I gave them a call a little while ago and it sounded like they didn't plan on shipping my notebook until after labor day weekend until I specifically requested to have mine shipped tomorrow. And as for anyone else inquiring about shipping, talk with DHL not Dell unless you do not have your tracking number.

 

I don't think that I have my tracking number yet though... did you get yours via email or what?

 

Thanks guys. Hopefully mine gets shipped soon. Went into boxing late Tuesday night and with the weekend coming up I'm guessing Monday at the earliest to have it at my door. Sucks to have to wait almost a week after it goes into boxing stage, but I've waited this long what's a few more days .

 

I checked the order status and it had a tracking number below the shipping information. You could call Dell to verify if they have actually sent your notebook to DHL or if they're still in the process of doing so. An email came several hours later after my initial order status check.

If you live in the U.S., you will not recieve your notebook Monday because it's Labor Day. So think more of Tuesday or later.

 

Weeeee, was yours in Sparks, Nevada, when you called? That's where mine currently is at the moment.

Yep. Did you already call and ask for next day delivery? The tracking status on the DHL website updated me with an estimated delivery date for 9/1.

 

i got my tracking number online chat. and on the status update page. I never got an email though at all saying it was shipped

 

Gah! My laptop is 15 minutes from my house (at DHL warehouse) and I can't pick it up until tuesday... despite the fact that I requested next day shipping. Darn this Labor Day weekend and all of those people who don't have to work (including me).

 

Not working is good. Get to take the day off and have a little barbeque and/or get together.

 

I love having to work holiday weekends *and* get my shipments delayed because of them. Grrrr for shift work.

 

Mine went into boxing sometime last night. Very excited, now as long as it get out before the weekend.

 

what?? wow man you ordered on 8/27?? and its boxing already...... freaking crap i would so have ordered the blue if i thought it would have been like that... man that pisses me off... good for you but ... there was a 19 day delay for the blue and 0 for black... i ordered the black on 8/23.... dell pisses me off more every day... sucks so bad i really really wanted the blue

the screen is "flawless" it runs fast, smooth, just an overall fantastic piece of equipment

its well worth the wait guys, i waited since july 23rd..i know others have waited longer, im just saying its worth it.

That's good to hear! I decided against the Vostro because I didn't think I would be as happy with the all black laptop, and consequently sacrificing the wait time, so it's good to see so many people happy with their orders.

My Midnight Blue 1520 went into boxing yesterday morning sometime after being in build since last week. Not too bad, actually. My ESD is still 9/27, but I'm hoping to have it early next week There seems to be a shipment of computers leaving soon so I'm hoping mine is one of them!!

 

Just got my midnight blue 1520 and am typing from it right now. I love it! The blue is perfect and the screen is great. What a great laptop!

 

Yeah I ordered the black as well at first but then 3 days after ordering it the blue went from 16 days wait to 10 days, so I said screw it I really want the blue so I cancelled and re-ordered. I figured it's better to order exactly what I want so as not to end up with buyers remorse been there before done that.

 

man that sucks... i get screwed all the way around with this deal.. except price.. maybe i can order the lid by itself later once they are available as parts only thing i guess is now ive seen 3 blue ones and from keeping them in a case and sliding them in and out the sharper edges around the corners are wearing away.. the blue color is there but the soft "satin" feel of the finish is being removed and it does look kinda bad... this may have been corrected i dont know

 

I ordered mine on the 23 of August and it has shipped! I think they're really starting to catch up with the demand. I hope the rest of you get your Blue 1520's soon. Good Luck!
