1520 Midnight Blue Waiting Room

if you got next day shipping, chances are it's dhl. On my dell order status, it say ground shipment but DHL say next day 3pm.

We should. xD I really can't wait for it now. I've got a lot of stuff I want to do to it. The first thing is set up Vista. Then I'm going to install Ubuntu. Then XP. Then I'll customize each one to my liking. Finally, I'll get all my apps installed and my files on my external hard drive sorted out.

Oh yeah, I plan to take pictures too. I know there are tons of them here now, but I just got my new digital camera and I need to take pictures of something. I may even upload a video of unboxing to Youtube. xD

 

Same here, and 2 people from dell called to tell me it had shipped and gave me the tracking #.

Are some people getting calls with tracking numbers, even though their status still says "boxing"?

 

well i received a phone call on the home phone while i was in the bathroom and didn't get it, but the caller id looked like it might have been something about dell.... and i'm in boxing.

 

T minus 6 days to the ESD. Still in build. If all goes well I should hit boxing by Monday. Anyone know if they assemble on the weekends?

I called earlier today to change my shipping address since mine won't be here by the time I leave for college. So I check it online now, and i notice that there is a spelling error in the address. So I try to change it again, and the representative tells me that he can't change my shipping address cause its past the shipping info. stage or some bullcrap.

So now it might be shipped with a mistake in the address...

Dell sucks.

Yeah, I was told mine would ship in 1-3 business days. And its been in Boxing for 1-2 days so far. So thats like 2-5 days for Boxing process.

Ubuntu is the distro. But I'll have Feisty Fawn, the current release. I'm a complete nub at linux, but I'll learn. Also there is a thread on the Ubuntu forums about Ubuntu on the 1520. It shouldn't take long to learn how to use Linux.

 

OK, woke up this morning and the automated line said "my order has been placed in the hands of the courier. It should ship within the next business day." When I went online, this is what it shows me:

SOOOOO... I have no idea when I'm getting it. Hopefully, it left before midnight and they deliver it today.

 

OK...got an update. It's with DHL and on DHL's site, it says:

So, I guess this means I'm not seeing my laptop until Monday. I really wanted it today so I had it for the weekend.

 

Well, I just got the dreaded e-mail stating that my order has been delayed until Aug. 30th Sadly, I'm already up at college and classes start on the
27th.

My tracking info says Est. Delivery Date: 8/27/2007 even though its already in my state and very close If I don't get it today since it shipped yesterday I'll be calling Dell, that isn't Next Business Day, and it says Ground shipping on the tracking info on the DHL site.

 

Paznos I'm having the same problem. It shipped yesterday but DHL just acknowledges they have the shipping info for a package sent via Ground. My account hasn't been charged by Dell yet.

 

I guess mine isn't shipping until Monday then. I hope... I ordered mine a few days after both of you.

 

Update: DHL status has changed to Arrived at DHL facility. And changed again to With delivery courier. So I think I'll be getting it today after all, probably within the next couple of hours, my Lojack was delivered a few weeks ago and came at 9:40 so maybe I'll get it within the hour.

It's here its here it's here!!!!!!! just now turning it on, takes a while to boot up, maybe since its the first time. The Blue is really dark much darker than I had hoped but did see pictures of others who got the midnight blue so was expecting it. FINALLY here.

Well on the site it finally shows my tracking number and its say Express DHL ground, why couldn't i have been lucky and gotten FedEX!! But now DHL is saying that it can't find my tracking number! so annoyed!

It says "Next business day" and all other info, including carrier and tracking number, says "Temporarily Unavailable"

WTH! My 1520 is still in boxing, but my online order status is giving me my old estimated ship date of the 15th now. I hope Dell isn't about to screw me over.

 

when did it start boxing? Mine said boxing last week on monday, and then on friday it was still in boxing, so i called to ask about it and the csr said that the phone service was incorrect and it was in build. however, this monday it said boxing again and it shipped today. so call and confirm it's in boxing.

 

got my laptop today at 2pm, using it right now =/ i hope you guys get your monday

First it was color then it was processor now it is back to color.
Just got off phone with CSR, after recieving third delay notice.
Upgraded to next day shipping and was told it would be expeditated,
yeah right. checked order status via website and was allready changed to NBD. Don't know which is worse? A weekly delay or being delayed from original ESD to the end of the month

 

I called and mine says its Being prepared for shipment.

They don't ship on weekends though right?

 

i'm going to cry! i'm so happy. not really gonna cry, but still. boxing in 3 days, and all day today i've been driving everywhere, getting things ready for college. got my containers, the "essentials" for college, car tuned up, because i have to move in tomorrow at noon, and i'm SOO pissed because the lappy won't be here cause it's still in boxing... so, now that you've heard all that useless information:

Just called 2 seconds ago and still Boxing. Its funny, when I first heard that I was in boxing I was so excited. Now I'm sick of hearing that freakin word!

 

It'll be like,

"I have some important information for you to write down, if you want to hear it again, just say REPEAT IT!" "This order has been shipped, and is in route to the carrier" the "this order has been shipped" i know for sure, no more "This order is in production" but the 2nd part, i'm not sure, but that's what mine said.

 

Ive been boxing since the 22nd but I didn't realize it til 2am which would make it the 23rd. My reasoning is that I've been in boxing for 1 day or 2?

 

I've been in Build Stage for quite some time now. Not as bad as some other people but at this point it's ridiculous. This will probably be my last post for awhile until I actually get my computer because I'm moving out of the house I'm leasing and moving back home to my parent's place which has no internet. Gotta wait until I get that free 6 months Earthlink subscription that will come with the notebook to do anything.
