finally got mine. doesn't look like it's grainy and even if it is i hope i don't find out because it looks good to me right now. the battery is a little bit loose but nothing really wrong with it and the cover doesn't properly shut to the fullest, not that big of a problem too).
overall i'm satisfied and i hope to format tonight and get things going tomo.

Dell Is Evil!! Cancel Your Orders And Get An Asus G1s-a1. It Costs More But Remember... You Get What You Pay For....
-

-

-
Mine has been shipped!! Now just waiting on the tracking #
-
-
Hi, I saw the thread about dell no longer offering the T7100. I ordered mine August 27. Think my part is gonna be delayed or something?
-
MD -
anyone remember where it was you could check to see what display your laptop had on it before even recieving it? was it on some type of invoice or something you got?
-
yeah you dont see the invoice until it's built and ready to ship
-
does it show up on the order status screen online? or is it just in the email then send you
another interesting note:
when i go to the automated order status line and put in the purchase id, it shows that my laptop is still in preproduction, but when i put in the specific order number it says its in boxing. weird. -
Am waiting on my jet black inspiron 1520 - ordered 10th of September, estimated delivery date is 18th October.
-
How long have people been waiting recently...
I'm in Canada and I'm hoping there isnt an additional delay.
How long does it usually take fom production date, to ship date? -
YES!
Just got the email that it shipped TODAY, that's 8 days before the ESD!!!
Ooooooh it had better not be broken!!!! -
looks like lots of people's shipped today. Lets all keep each other updated with the screen status once we get it!
-

Waiting at my door...... -
so does anybody know how where you're supposed to go to check which type of screen you have before you get your laptop but after its been shipped? is there an invoice on the site to check or is it only in an email that they send you as the notification?
-
You can sign in to your account at dell.com, and check your order status. Click on the 'Order Number' and you'll see the detailed list of all the parts on your system. If you ordered it on the phone, you can try finding your order with the order number and shipping zip code: HERE
-
I was about to ask the same thing. Isn't there a way you can check what kind of screen you have (AUO, Lg, SEC, etc) through an invoice or something?
-
yea i meant more like what stonedzombie was looking for, do you know the part numbers for each manufacturer for wxga+? i know we have the specific numbers but i havent seen anyone post which was for which, i thought there was a different area where it specifically told you which manufacturer it was
-
-
bummer, but i thought i remember that same thing that you thought about the invoice, w/e guess i'll just have to be surprised on monday lol
-
stoned zombie i just figured out how to check, go to your order status page and click on the specific order number of your laptop. on the left hand box there should be 3 links that say like return this order associated orders and then invoices. go to invoices and at the bottom of the receipt it should have a service tag. take that service tag and go to my systems & peripherals link at the top which is next to the order status number. put in your service tag where it says service tag p) and then click add. it should then input that computers config in and then you can click the service tag link and it will bring you to the specs of your laptop. I'm pretty sure i got an LG screen because it says : LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY, 15.4WXGA+, VIDEO ELEC. STDS. ASSOC., TLF, LGP
-
XP059 LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY, 15.4WXGA+, VIDEO ELEC. STDS. ASSOC., TLF, LGP
same as yours......heres hoping we get a clear LG man....good luck -
sweet man ya gl to both of us hehe, at least with lg we have the biggest chance of no grain (hopefully)
-
LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY, 15.4WSXGA+, VIDEO ELEC. STDS. ASSOC., TLF, SAMSUNG
crap? -
not necessarily since its 1680x1050
-
My service tag shows the LGP as well. I hope it's a great screen!
-
Shipped, it's supposed to be with the carrier now (or on its way there). Waiting for my tracking number...
-
looks like the people that got it shipped from the 13th to 14th had some good luck with screens lets hope they're pristine lol
-
-
Obscuru- someone already posted the way to look that up, go back a page or two
and is the problem with screens mostly the lower resolutions? because that would be a load off my mind(I have no idea if the screen I'm getting is one of the "bad apples") -
I find the informantions:
"GU429 LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY, 15.4WXGA+, VIDEO ELEC. STDS. ASSOC., TLF, AU OPTRONICS CORP"
I think that it's not a "good information" for me
Ship Date: 14/09/2007 -
i think the problems were mainly with the wxga+ 1440 x 900 resolutions druephoenix
-
I seem to be getting a Samsung.
1 RW985 LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY, 15.4WSXGA+, VIDEO ELEC. STDS. ASSOC., TLF, SAMSUNG -
-
-
-
For those with LGP on their specs......turns out its NOT LG.
http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=169967
-
thats really weird because it doesn't seem like LGP is a manufacturer but more of a type of lcd. and if it isn't a manufacturer then who makes the laptops that say lgp on them instead of lpl/samsung/auo?! wow this is confusing
-
i really hope mine is in boxing...
stupid dell website for not giving any information...
and stupid dell for not having a customer order line for canada... -
wooo freakin awesome, the screen looks FANTASTIC! i got the lpldf00 screen and there is no light leakage at the bottom either! time to enjoy this little baby ;D
-
-
Strange thing: on the AUO web site does not exist any LCD (for notebook) 15'' with 1440x900 (WXGA+) resolution ... hmmmm
http://auo.com/auoDEV/products.php?sec=notebook&func=items&items_id=2
Later edit: I find something: http://auo.com/auoDEV/products.php?func=info&product_id=19&items_id=2 (but it's "Production: Q4, 2007" - may be, they forget to testing very well this model and hurry up to drop him to the market ) -

from what I've heard, Dell is good for notebooks, but sucks for desktop...
-
desktops are best when you build them yourself, i built mine and i loved it , kind of outdated now ... got a 1520 for school..
anyways..DELL locks the bios on all their computers so a desktop that cant be OC'd is useless in my opinion
