Thank you. I went to a local repair shop.
They took care of the 5350 WiFi problem with some sort of Driver Genie that automatically force installs default drivers.
I was able to update the drivers with the latest version 16 from Intel. (The driver installed by the shop was version 13).
I will try the drivers you posted, but if it still doesn't work I am not concerned because I don't think I ever used the Infrared Receiver anyway.
Best wishes to everyone still running an F8.
I do plan to replace it with a Surface 2 Pro or ThinkPad X240 as it does show its age some time, and the weight and battery life is a real disappointment.

The only was is either take your laptop to Asus and ask them to reflash a new modified bios with the X2300 (highly unlikely) or buy another 8600GT which is my advice.

There are no other vga card that will work for your laptop, only one vga rom exists in the F8Sv bios. See below:
    vendor id.PNG

Can you see anything on the screen with your old 8600GT? Because if you can, then there is a way to flash the modded bios file for X2300 to work.

    Hi,

    Many months later !

There's no way to make a modded bios that unlock all MXM cards possible ?

    Thanks
