Wow. $2200 for two of the most powerful GPUs available, a sweet CPU that should overclock (if Turbo Mode is there) to at least 3.4GHz, 6GB of RAM and a Full HD screen?

    I envy you Americans.

That config would cost $6000 at LEAST in Australia. :(

    Good Luck on the W90, I'm off to bed. It's 1:15 :)

It's gonna stomp Crysis! I would do it if mine were coming today... but it seems that Strike got the only East coast one :p
I'm patiently waiting his unboxing and pictures- it will be like I am getting mine a few days early. :p :)

    I wouldn't mind a 4870 in a 17". 18.4 promises to be way too bulky.

I cannot for the life of me find anything on the Mobility X38 chipset. The only X38 chipset information I can find from Intel or other is on the desktop version. I wonder if the "mobility" version is just ASUS' own frankenstein version of their X38 desktop chipset?

Anyone have anything on this. Im just curious.

I'm guessing that's the case. If I do recall correctly, Asus does make some very good X38 desktop boards though.

Look at the reviews on the egg.
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...&Order=BESTMATCH&Description=asus+x38&x=0&y=0

I particularly like the manufacturer's response team they have for dealing with newegg complaints.

While we are waiting on benchmarks from striker, i have a question to all. Ive always been a nvidia guy, do you think there is a big difference between the ATI vs Nvidia versions of the Asus w90?
oh and another question, how do you get ATI drivers for notbooks? do you use the new catalyst drivers on their webpage that is used for the regular video boards?

As for the expresscard question, All Asus notebooks with an expresscard slot are 54mm and can also accept 34mm cards.

The early press releases did mention an option for an Nvidia 9800 series card (not SLI) as a video option however that I believe was also for the 17" model.

Well, good news and bad news for Canadians. They just released it on newegg.ca YAYYYYY (see it here http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834220503&Tpk=w90vp)

Bad news is that it's 2727.99. 500.00 more than the US version.

But that is directly in line with the currency conversion from US to Canadian. Sux, but I will be ordering mine now anyways.

I'm at a loss here. $2,727.99CAD < $2,199.99USD. So in essence the Canadian version is roughly $25USD or $31CAD less than we here in the states pay. How does this sux? Did you expect to pay the same price in Canadian dollars as the US version listed at i.e. $2,200CAD? Heck I would go north to buy one then ;)

BtW everyone that got their W90s yesterday have abandoned us :( Not even a "rockin" or a "the sux"
