The G50 series is larger and heavier than most 15.4" notebooks and rivals with a few 17 inchers. It's not terribly difficult to carry around, but this is of course will vary for each individual.

It's roughly the size of a 16", maybe a hair bigger, but it's not as heavy as you might think. I find it fairly easy to carry around. It's the power brick that has some weight to it.

dude its maybe 7-8 pounds with the brick, not exactly a deadly weight. I quite happily carry mine around most of the day, all you have to is think that all this carrying will be worth it when you open up your bag and are struck by such searing beauty.

I definitely recommend a GTS overclock and DOX 182.05 drivers for anyone who's willing to tweak their system. For the heck of it, I ran the same Crysis test as in the original post, and got:

    Average FPS: 32.23
    Min FPS: 15.77
    Max FPS: 43.56

So i'm guessing this bios flash is also applicable to g71g users who have the same 9800m gs?

Yup, same GFX card + same motherboard I think so I don't see why it shouldn't work!

I would be careful of using BIOS versions not specifically released for your particular machine. Are you sure it's the exact same motherboard?

Techniqually it should be the same is in theory its just a bigger version of the g50, but that doesnt much matter if the g71 BIOS are taken from nvflash by the actual flasher and not downloaded from somebody else, who may have a g50!
Dont cut corners by downloading the modded BIOS from another member, its always best to do it yourself so you know and the time it saves you is not worth screwing up your machine by using random BIOS!

Anyways, big up to the lounge and this forum.

My friend has one and he tried the gts bios but sometimes it gets unstable with some games like TF2. Anyway he didn't need it. 9800mgs works great like it is.
