That is really strange. I have the same laptop as you do and it is SO much better with undervolting. I can even have some OC on it.

Right now I have mild OC in the CPU and GPU, but that is because my undervolting is @ -80mV. The temperatures dont go higher then 80ºC in the CPU and the GPU don't go higher then 75ºC.
    How are you doing undervolting?

The standard clocks for this CPU are:
    1core - 3.6Ghz
    2cores - 3.4ghz
    4cores - 3.2ghz

Asus uses an absurd amount of voltage in the original BIOS. This was somewhat corrected later on I think, but I never flashed another bios. In my case I live in a hot area and still have the stock termal paste, so my OC is like this:

    1core - 4.0ghz
    2cores - 3.8ghz
    4cores - 3.6ghz.
    Undervolting -80mV

I know I can push it further, but I prefer lower noise development, and I don't really care for 5-10% performance difference. I can play for hours and temperatures are always ok.

I use ThrottleStop and have it like this:

    -CPU CORE:
    Unlock adjustable Voltage
    Adaptive
First "slider" - All to the left until Default shows
Second Slider - Undervolt (try -100mV or something)

    - CPU Chache
Exactly the same as CPU CORE

Choose "Save Options to INI when ThrottleStop exits"

    TPL Button:
    Speed Shift Tecnology enable
Enable Speed Shift when TS Starts

Hello, i wanted to test everything you told me before replying and here are my results:

First i did try the core clocks at 35x each... Ok... Then i did set the core and cpu voltage to default (0.00v) and then i opened Withcer 3 game maxed out... The CPU got to 85C at 3.45Ghz and 5 to 7 minutes later the laptop freezed up, literally (nothing working and the screen only showing the Witcher 3 Home Screen Menu)... I waited like 15 minutes to see if it responds... No avail. This behaviour is very known for me because the laptop has did it before many times when trying to undervolting/overvolting for the first time (when trying to figure out the best voltage between freez/BSOD and overvoltaging too much)... So i did a hard reset and rapidly got to TS to set the +0.026v i must have always to get "stability" again so the laptop doesn't freez/BSOD...
I stopped there and realize that if the laptop cannot stand at its "default" (though i am thinking thats not true, the default must be different) so nothing will.

Now, do you see my problem? This laptop has some voltage problems within some stuff (internally or whatever) from the begining (i have purchased it like 9 months to 1 year ago)...
What do you recommend me now?
Miguel Pereira, as you may know now, i cannot test what yo recommend me because of what i explained just here...

Thank you very much for the time and the appreciate effort you hmscott and Miguel Pereira put in this.

Hopefully your warranty hasn't run out, some regions still offer 2 years, but if you are still under or right around 1 year I'd file a ticket right now with Asus. If you haven't registered yet, do that and then file the ticket against the registered laptop. You'll need your original receipt, or get a reprint / download from the seller to register the laptop with Asus.

Asus has been pretty good about people near the end of their warranty, or just over, and given support, so it's worth a try. :)

Well, given that, I would advice to send to warranty. It makes sense.

Greetings to all, I am new to this forum and although there are many pages, I tried to read and get acquainted.

I have my ASUS ROG G752VS and I have problems with the speed of my CPU that is blocked at 800mhz, it has a thermal throttling at low temperatures and this generates low FPS.
    Reinstall Windows 10 from scratch
    Update BIOS to V310
    Update video drivers and others
    Replace the fans
    Replace the thermal paste
He read other forums about it but could not find the solution.
THROTTLESTOP: When you turn off BD PROCHOT the clocks go up to 3400mhz but the fps only go up to 30fps, the performance is still low and the game shows a bit more stable but it does not work as it should ... I change the voltages to -100mV but nothing of results
MSI AFTERBURNER: Change of frequencies and voltage curves but neither is the solution.
I HOPE YOU CAN HELP ME FIND A FINAL SOLUTION, I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF YOU HAVE ARRIVED AT ANY CONCLUSION OR RESULT IN THIS FORUM.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH TO ALL.

Hello hmscott, just replying to let you know whats up (and what happened) with my issue: the warranty you mention is over from the beginning (since i purchased the laptop from a person, not from a store) so when i tried to register the serial number, obviously i could not because it has already been registered with no way i could get help (nor the registered email) from him.
As i mentioned, i formatted the C Drive and clean installed Windows just to see (i did it as a consolation to myself)... Nothing different, as you already knew.

I am now planning to repaste with LM. Right now i am gathering knowledge, tools and courage to do it. I have already the knowledge and soon the tools (i oredered them)... You can figure whats left, but i can assure i can do it even without the courage :p.

Meanwhile i have no more choice that to use the laptop as it get: 97C CPU, Power Throttling AND Thermal Throttling (yes, both, i do not know exactly why) and gaming at a considerable low framerates.

Last i would like to share some interesting facts about what i have found trying to resolve my issue: I did manage to do an undervolt to the core clock: -125mV (the laptop "accepted it" and i am still WTF) but with the cache overvolted to +.0058V (yeah) and the laptop kept "alive" for 37 minutes (playing Final Fantasy XV and, obviously throttling) before crash (BSOD WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR). That impressed me and let me to think that the cache clock is the component that require more voltage, not the core clock. I share this because i have not found any information regarding the differences voltage between the core and the cache so you (thinkers, experts and connoisseur) could explain me What does that differences in voltage mean and why, technically, is "ok" to the CPU itself? Another thing is, as my CPU is "requiring" more voltage, i decided to install Game Center (just to see) so i resetted every modification i have done in TS. But when i game with it installed, 5 minutes later the laptop just freez 3 or 4 secs then it restart itself (Not BSOD, just black screen and then windows loading)... I tried like 3 times and all the times it just restart the windows again (with "extreme performance" enabled within the application). I also noted that with game center installed, the CPU Power is 75W max, and only 45W without it. Everything, apart from that, seems to be "normal" (in this case, normal means with no difference): 97C and thermal throttling.

Thats all i have to share.

Regarding this, i could say WTF? i mean, low temperatures and Thermal Throttling? Wtf?
I could say reinstall windows and would ask you: when that issue appeared? Some changes on some potential software or hardware at all?

    Thank you.

You need still increase core voltage. Or just lower cashe ratio. Not all chips handle core and cache with equal clock ratio.

I see but not completely... What are the differences (if any) or the relation between cache ratio and the vCORE (or power at all)? i would understand that cache ratio means something about the clock frequency (not power). For example, The Voltage Identification Definition (VID) in my CPU (i7-6820hk) is mostly at 1.2V to 1.35V (very variable) and that seems to go pretty high for this model but thinking about it... It is exactly what i am setting to be when adjusting in TS the voltage and/or offset voltage to the core/cache (yes?). While more cache ratio (i.e 36) more power need the CPU to maintain that ratio? If so, what is that ratio stand for and to what component it interfere with (cache voltage or core voltage)? Will the laptop blow up if i set the ratio at static 7 and the cache voltage offset to +0.080v while having -125mV in core? Why (technically wise) does the cache and the core voltage "should be" the same (though it could vary)? I am so confused right now because it seems that everything i "understand" about the CPU i do it in the wrong way or do not understand anything at all because from what you are saying, i can say that the voltage is directly proportional to the clock ratio of both cache and core. Yes?

First... None notebooks is delivered with possibility to increase Voltage high enough to be able to blow up your chips. Overheating and thermal throttling will be the main problem long before your chips go to Hell.

In short No Cache voltage or Input Voltage with Skylake or Kaby lake (see the guides and my explanations), although you find this in Bios / XTU / ThrottleStop for your Skylake Mobile i7-6820Hk. Remember Skylake and Kaby lake is almost same chips/architecture. On Kaby lake is Cashe Voltage adjustment removed totally (the CPU cores and what people refer to call as the cache/uncore/ring share the same input voltage). Everything will and can be tuned by the Core Voltage. I can still put in voltage values for Cashe for my 7700K, but this can only be done in ThrottleStop and only be useful with a small overclock. Very high/stable overclock means I put same voltage for Core and Cashe for Kaby lake. And there is only adjustment for the Core Voltage adjustment in Bios for "Kaby Lake" notebooks. See there is a reason for this as you can see in the guides below.

And remember not all chips can and will handle same/equal clock speed for both Core and Cashe.
How much more VCore is needed for faster Cache? [IMG] I tested Cache frequency at different levels (1:1 with the CPU frequency, fixed at 40x, fixed at 45x) and then scaled the CPU frequency. I then recorded the lowest voltage required to not crash in Windows with CPU-Z open; I corrupted Windows 10 more than once by doing this. A few trends do pop up. For starters, the Uncore/Cache/Ring seems to have its own required voltage level that doesn't change depending on the CPU core frequency, but it's small. On average I required 0.03-0.05v more to run the Cache at 1:1 with CPU frequency. As we saw earlier the benefits of running faster cache are minimal, but higher VCore produces higher temperatures. I would say that you do not need to keep the Cache ratio at 1:1 with the CPU for 24/7 use, instead try to keep it at least 500MHz away, and only closer once you find your optimal CPU frequency and if you can afford a few extra degrees.

In the end, you as you said have 6820Hk (Skylake). You trying to run Cashe ratio equal to the Cores. And this won't work very well on a chips who is a bad overclocker from the beginning. Higher cashe ratio and/or equal cores and hope for stability and high overclock means you need to put higher Core Voltage. Or decrease Cashe ratio.

Hi Guys,Just got my G752VS here are the specs
    G752VS-GB094T
    17.3 UHD 60Hz Display
    i7-6820Hk
    32 Gb Ram
    1Tb Hdd
    512 Gb Ssd
    Gtx 1070
What are the optimal cpu temps for this laptop?
Just tried Nfs payback on mine and cpu temps are between 88 to 95 degrees,is there a way to lower these temps?

You have to put the latest firmware and after that do some undervolting with throttlestop. It will be fine, Asus uses too much voltage from factory.

Firmware means bios if I’m not wrong?
    Should I uninstall game centre?
And can you please possibly quote how much should I undervolt please?

You can also try repasting the unit with some better thermal paste to see if that will help the temps as well

    hey guys,
just got 7700hq version of G752VS

i'd like to get zero throttling and best possible max performance out of this laptop ....
wanna do probably some undervolting for cpu and gpu ... best setting for cpu in ThrottleStop and for GPU in msi AB curve maybe ?!?!

any help would be appreciated. thx in advance
