It happens on Multiplayer, but the strange thing is that happens without any change in the game, let's say there are the same characters on the screen end everything else. It's not related to some "heavy load".

I'm already using the lastest nVidia Drivers (270.61)

Does this happen on any other games? If not, maybe you could try reinstalling TF2?

Actually it does. Also on F1 2010 and Shift 2... And i've noted that it happens along with some low GPU Usage on MSI Afterburn.
Right now i'm with no overclock and already formated the nb

I'm curious, what is the current voltage of your GPU? I was thinking that it might be a little lower than usual. You can check using HWmonitor.

That's weird. The only other reason I can think of is that you are playing on battery. But I'm not sure that this is the case.

No no i'm playing on ac adapter. Could this be some energy settings? I'm currently using the High Performance profile, but not with the Power4Gear.

    Is my voltage low?

Your voltage is the same as mine. And I have no stutters in any games. Maybe you can try to use the Power4Gear High Performance. See if this improves your experience.

The problem continues with the Power4Gear...
It's strange cause if i don't move at all, sometimes the FPS is as low as 20 then go to as high as 200. I just don't know what's going on =(

Here's the last thing I can think of. If I'm not mistaken, TF2 is very processor intensive. Please check if the Power4Gear High performance processor control is at maximum performance. Also set the maximum processor state to at least 95%.

    1080p but not max settings.
i think maybe its due to all the upgrades youve done, and the powersupply cannot provide enough power to everything? youve got like the most highest spec G73SW laptop on this forum i think.... are you using the standard power supply? i dont understand what it could be. maybe one of your components are drawing too much power? how long does your laptop last when not plugged in, and under heavy use, for example gaming.

It's on 100% for maximum and minimum.
How are your CPU clock on idle?
Mine is about 790Mhz... is it normal?

@Ravivarsani: You got a good point... my old AC Adapter died. I had to get a new one, of course with the same specs... I never tried to see how long it last, but I guess about 1:30 at max.

Yes, that is normal. I actually changed the settings on Power4Gear a little to get Crysis 2 to play well enough on max settings even on battery. Maximum processor state is at 95%, and minimum is at 10%. I've gotten less stuttering on battery. I'm just not sure if this will apply to you as well.

Bro I must say that your settings actually improved my play. I don't get all those slowdowns anymore. I think its really something related to energy supply.
Is there any more powerful Ac Adapter that I could buy for the g73sw?

Honestly, I prefer to stick with the original power supply. I think it's getting slowdowns from keeping the CPU at 100%. It requires more power to keep it at 100% all the time. That's the best explanation I have.

well i dunno, if the laptop stays at 100% battery even when playing TF2 or Crysis 2 on max settings when plugged in, this cant be the problem. as long as the laptop can charge quicker than the power is being used up, this shouldnt be the problem. after an extended game session, chek to see what your batter status is at. also having all that high spec energy consuming hardware must generate alot of heat? How are u dealing with the heat? im assuming your using the standard G73SW case, the same as mine. the two fans at the back are however very powerful and can keep my laptop cool constantly, but this may be different for you.

The heat isn't a problem here... At heavy gameplay i get about 74ºC on the GPU.

I'm thinking of buying the G73SW-3de but I was wondering if the upgrade from the 2630 to the 2720 is worth it. I'm not a huge gamer but I wana be able to play starcraft, cod and sims. I was looking at getting it from Xoticpx but the upgrade was 399 from them but only 220 from hidevolution. I'm just not as familiar with hidevolution as I am with xoticpc. Thanks for any input

CPU upgrade won't do much for you for those games as they are all GPU centric. Upgrade if you want to but ultimately even stock this is a very fast and capable machine.

Hi, I still trying to make working the 270.61 with 3D.

I tried many of install way indicated previously on this topic but can't manage the 3D support to work back. Green light on the screen is not lighting up and I tried to configure 3D vision, I got the passive red/blue version and not the active version.

Could someone help by posting a more details how-to with screenshots of software install from add/remove programs and drivers version number from device manager ?

    Hi!

Can someone tell me how to make the sound quality better? The speakers should be great as they are Altec Lansing, so I guess this crappy sound quality is a matter of some settings or drivers (?). How to fix this?

You want only audio through HDMI? Select the High Definition Audio device as default in playback devices (right click the sound icon in the clock area on the taskbar), though it should auto default to hdmi when a compatible device is plugged in the HDMI port.

I'm guessing he means both, as if to use the laptop as a bluray player for a TV but I could be wrong. I can't say I've done it myself but one would think it would work pretty seamlessly.

I think you should use some software to run the bluray and press Fn+F8 to send it to the TV.

Thats a pretty heavy price premium, in the US that spec would set you back around US$1850. Are all laptops sold at a premium over there?

Thanks for all the help; I got it, running Blu-ray disc with TotalMedia Theatre 5, just had to select 'default sound" or something like that instead of the laptop option.

What I am a bit puzzled about is that I don't seem to be able to have the Blu-ray playing on the 27" screen AND use the laptop at the same time.

I can have both display the movie, either on it's own, but can't use any other programs at the same time; anyone else try this?

Hi all, I have G73SW 3DE with 2x 500GB hybrid HDD, but I notice that my 2nd drive have slow response time after idle, sometimes just opening the drive using explorer give noticeable delay and there's some noise at the same time, similar to optical drive noise but not as loud..

is that normal? or maybe it's a defect? anyone have similar case?

i've also noticed the SHD are somtimes slow to respond. i think the drive sleeps more often or hard to wake up...
Once its going, its fine, but if its idle for a bit i notice some lag.

As for it being NORMAL, hell if i know. i really notice it though since i have a SSD in the primary slot and the SHD as the storage drive..

    it doesn;t bother me though.

What you want to do is press Win + P on your keyboard: this'll bring up the Windows projector options. You have, from let to right, Computer Only, Duplicate, Extend, and Projector Only; for what you're trying to do, you'll want Extend, then drag the window over to the monitor (usually to the right), and you'll be able able to multi-task like a pro.

    Quick question:

It's probably been asked, but I'm at work, so I don't have time to go through all 105 pages of this thread.

I haven't bought this laptop yet, and I was wondering if it has the same problems as the G73JW - constant stalling and BSoD?

    Thanks in advance.

Same here, if the drive goes into sleep mode, it takes a couple of seconds to wake up. You can disable this in power options to never turn off hard drive.
