Not that I know of. You could put it to sleep and then schedule something to happen in the task scheduler to wake it up at a certain time, but from full off to on there is nothing.

I'm having the same problem as mahdyshr...

But I have one of my own, does anyone here plays or played Supreme commander Forged Alliance?

I've just started and I have random slow downs every few minutes or so, and this comp should run it no problem.

In the "non" laggy times, it runs a good 30+ fps on high, and when the slow downs come, I turn it down to lowest graphics and I still experience them. I'm just at the first campaign mission...

Can anyone help me with this?

I played it last night through the tutorial and the first mission of the campaign and had no slow down. I'm running the stock 2.13 CPU and all settings are set to medium.

    Cheers,

Man, I just realized my laggy problem is not with the laptop performance.

But rather Windows 7 and driver incompatibility.

I tried playing a few games, Operation Flashpoint 2, I got the same problem, it runs fast and smooth then becomes extremely choppy for a few minutes then goes back...

I'm still not sure what to do....

    Any one help?

i've never had a temp problem, i ran FC2, nfs shift, and many others with no problems on the windows 7 RC.

I don't see why I should be having this now.

Well it seems you're right, my laptop starts to become choppy when my laptop hits 110C....

Never had this problem, had FC2 running for hours on end... now I can't play Supreme commander: FG for half an hour without over heating...

Can anyone suggest what to do?

Vacuum your comp on the underside, it might be dusty inside.

Does anyone have a picture of the plastic piece that tightens up the keyboard connector with the montherboard for G50Vt-x1? I sent my keyboard in for repair. I had the plastic thing broken and sent it in with the keyboard. They didn't send it back that I can't connect my keyboard backg to the motherboard. I called them and they said they didn't know what that thing is. If you have a picture of that piece or a picture showing keyboard being connected to motherboard, I may show it to them to send one back to me?

Or is the part available in stores such as Microcenter?

    Thanks,

Is there a document (maybe repair manaul) that shows the schematic of the laptop? What do you call this thing? It's an thin object with a hook (or tab) at both ends. You put the keyboard connector under and insert this object. the hook locks to keep the connection in position. THANKS!

Sorry. I have a lot of photos from the underside but nothing from the upside. However if you google for dismatling or repair guides you might get lucky. I know there are some around.

Got a G50Vt-X1 last Friday for $450 from a pawn shop. Went through alot of windows updates, hooked up my 37" HDTV & USB tuner. Scheduled a TV recording last night and will review it this evening.

I'm very pleased w/it so far.

Do the lights on the back work for anyone on Windows 7? I got G50VT-X1 and I run W7 Ultimate X64, and can't get it to work. Have all the newest drivers from asustek, all for W7 x64, and it doesn't work. There's some light but not blue. It works perfectly on Vista.

Led lights above the keyboard and around the touchpad work, Direct Console works for overclocking. Just that lid doesn't want to cooperate.
