Well it turns out my contact was misinformed. My order has been in the "Boxing" stage all week (since at least Sunday). I shot off an email just now, but I have been calling daily, and told every day that my order "should be shipping out today or tomorrow" ever single day. Pretty irritated actually. =\

I was fine waiting by myself, then they had to go and get my hopes up.

Do u have NBD shipping? Try calling the 1-800-alienware number, its pretty accurate than calling dell, i ordered mine on 2/7, its on delivery prep since 2/8, i dnt knw if it will ship tom or next week, did u order the cosmic black color? Hang in there man!

I have NBD shipping, yes. It hasn't shipped yet - my contention is with live agents telling me over and over that it's "going to ship out tomorrow" every day for a week ;)

"We are currently preparing your order to be shipped."

Same message I've had for going on six days, now...

I know, their service sucks too, the dell reps from india really dont know what's happening with the orders, they just lie to us, i read in one of the forums that Dell is stacking up orders to be shipped and ship them all together in one time to save money, dont know if its true, if it is then it might be reason for the delay man, sucks though but nothing we can do. what is your EDD? mine is 2/21.

    Mine is 02/22.

When I ordered last Wednesday morning, the EED's online were 2/14, but because I ordered mine on the phone (for a discount) my date was about a week longer. Not sure why =\

i actually ordered online too but cancelled and ordered by phone instead, rep gave me 3-5 day shipping but i called back and got NBD for free..i think yours will ship by tom man, just wait for it, if not its going to be shipped early next week. Yours ought to ship first before mine since u ordered earlier. Ill keep you posted if anything changes on my end bro.

I was told earlier today that there was a delay with my system in the Boxing status (i.e. when the system is shipped to the US from Asia) due to the Chinese New Year.

When I got home tonight, in partaking from my hourly order status checking ritual I found my order had shipped and will be delivered tomorrow. Glad to know that Dell's website knows more than it's employees....

The NBD shipping is probably what caused it to be delivered, got it a couple hours ago. Reformatted, etc and just playing with stuff. The build quality on this thing is amazing, and I love how modular it is - first thing I did was take her apart, install the new hard drive and IC7 it.

Now that I've gone Alienware I'll never be able to go back.

Considering placing my M15x order through the Outlet store with the 15% deal going on right now...$1361 for a 740QM/5850/6GB DDR3/Intel 5300 WiFi/500GB HDD/BluRay + DVDRW...

...however, it's only the 900p screen, not the 1080p. I know some people say it doesn't matter, but it seems many of the "gamers" prefer the 1080p and recommend it highly. Considering I use an M11x R2, any screen is basically an upgrade for 15"...decisions, decisions!

I'm used to the 720p screen on my Asus G50. The 1080p screen on the M15x has been really sharp so far, but it will definately take some getting used to for every day stuff. Honestly, the 900p screen is probably a good go between just because of the native resolution being a little lower - games will be able to be run at native res with higher settings for longer, and Windows won't be so tiny. :)

I absolutely love this machine so far, best purchase decision I ever made. It's amazing how many cool details they have on this thing, and the build quality is incredible. I was surprised to learn that a good percentage of the outside of the chassis was aluminum - thought it would be plastic. Give it a nice high quality feel, and definitely more durable and less "squeaky" than plastic. My Asus G50 is covered in plastic, so it squeaks annoyingly often.

Thats nice man! 900p is not dat bad for a 15 inch screen, hope i get my system early next week, its not yet shipped but fedex has edd of 2/16, i have NBD too, i live in hawaii, do u think it will make it by wed next week?? Waiting makes me anxious from day to day, lol!

900p is the perfect res for a 15", its why i went for the m15x over any other 15" gaming laptop!

Ahhh! My order status never changed one bit for a week since 2/8 "delivery preparation" guess i have to wait one more week since my EDD from dell is 2/21, i was just hoping it would ship earlier like most people experienced... :(

To be fair I did a lot of complaining. Dell more or less botched my ordering process, and then promised me a premature/false delivery date. I called them every day last week, Sunday-Friday. I'm going to guess that may have been related to why I took delivery a week and a half early. :p

    Congrats! :D

They may update the site later on this evening with an EDD of tomorrow, depends on where you live, etc.

You can call FedEx while it's in transit and change it so you can go pick it up.

Guys I'm a little concerned: placed my order on 10th Feb and my status is 'shipped' as of today! Is that enough time to go through quality control, burning in etc? Just hoping it won't be a raft of problems when it arrives.

Thanks man! The delivery updates have been excellent and I'm able to track it through every hub as it goes. Last time I ordered from dell was 2006, so the process has markedly improved. It seems to be arriving with a certain inevitability!

What did you originally order? If they put the wrong fx card in that IS major fubar. Ouch. Makes me worried lol.

EDIT: did you fully and extensively check your order PDF/receipt that they should have sent you after you placed your order? There's a pretty comprehensive breakdown of the build your computer should have. If it differs in anyway from the delivered article you must contact dell immediately as that is entirely unnacceptable. If, however, your receipt shows that you did have regular DVD and that particular fx card, then the price should have been adjusted accordingly. Either way it should be brought to Dells attention.

UPDATE: my order edd moved forward ro 24hrs earlier to arrive 17th  !!!
I'm not even going to be in the country to pick it up! What should I do? Can I arrange a later delivery date with ups?

i was hoping they could just send me the units themselfs so i can replace them and then in the old one, rather than sending in the whole notebook itself. that would be more convenient. anyone experience this?

I read in some forum that u have to send in back in unit, but try calling them and let them send it to u but i dnt if that will affect your warranty so maybe u really have to send it in..that sucks big time..i fell you man.
