Just ordered my M15X!

I ordered on the 3rd August, changed to shipping on 7th. It arrived on the 12th August.
EDD was 18th August. But the SSD might delay yours a little, atleast so Ive heard.

Congrats ukera and Weevee, Walsh Western doesnt actually send it, UPS does. So that tracking will never actually work (atleast it didnt for me). You might get an email from UPS with a tracking code that actually works or you could ask dell.

It'll actually reach your home in about 4-5 days so not long to go anyways

 

OK that clears it up, thanks. I gave them my dads e-mail for updates and my parents are away until Monday (already had two parties lol), so I won't be able to check it until then . I really hope I'm not working much next week, but I know I will be .

Have you done any test and stuff x3k5? How's your machine?

You using the tracking from your Dell Account Management webpage, or have you received an email from the courier?

My Dell Account management screen still lists it as being shipped through Walsh Western (and the link takes me to there website, which just comes up as a blank page 'with errors'), but a day or so after the status went to 'shipped' I received an email from UPS and there link worked fine. Though for me it took a week from going to status 'shipped' to being delivered to my house.

Thanks, Boz. How's your laptop? I'd love to hear some opinions after you've had a couple of days to use it .

 

The laptop is great A big upgrade from my 17" Toshiba Sat Pro (which had an ATI 2600 HD graphics in it).

Havent really had much chance to actually 'play' anything yet, unless you count a quick go in a 5 man instance in WoW. Fired up Bad Company 2 and Crysis though last night just to get a quick look at them and its good! Bad Company 2 was a slideshow on my old laptop, so threw the settings on high, and now when I get chance (damn you work!), I'll have aplay around for the optimal settings.

 

Lol, I'm upgrading from a Dell Inspiron 1720 (Intel Core 2 duo @2.00Ghz), NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT, 4GB RAM.

 

Hi guys i may need your help, i ordered the m15x on the 9th august and it is still currently in "work in progress" stage (it is now 18 august) my EDD is the 24th but i'v been told the the EDD is not accurate by any means, i live in the UK if thats helps. I am just wondering if this is normal or if there's something going on with my order. Thanks anyways

 

I would call Dell, mine changed from WIP to In Production very quickly, so did a couple of other members.

 

Mine stayed as Work In Progress longer than these guys - a couple of days longer atleast - but moved to In Production and spent very little time there before being sent my way (Arrived today at 10am my time ).

I did fire off an email to customer support though to see whats up...30 mins later it was in production and 5 hrs after that i got a reply back "nothings wrong its in production".... grrr

 

Well i just rang up dell and all they said was that it will turn up on the 24th August or earlier which was the EDD that i knew off

I'm more than alittle jealous - may have to stop reading these forums tonight and tomorrow as although my laptop has arrived I'm not there to see it until tomorrow evening!

 

Oh, man, it was so much fun to unbox! MW2 just finished downloading so I'm off to go play that.

I love typing with this thing, and I'm surprised at the amount of colour selection in the AlienFX thing.

 

Yea the AlienFX sure is cool! I wish there was more custimization with it though... I mean, you cant even make the Alienhead morph while plugged in.... LAME.

Big fail.. Well anyways cofounders are kicked, so I really don't care about IW/MW anymore because most likely new ones will be clones of MW2. Just check Black Ops, the dialogs in the trailer are much less same as Price's "For the Record" broadcast :/

ok well now im kinda confused and angry: i rang up this morning and they said it is probably going to come on the 24th (1am in the morning for me right now, so it would be coming today but have yet to ring up to arrange a delivery time) but couple of hours later i received an email from dell saying that my order is coming on the 1st September and that i can track the order via UPS, then i clicked on "track here" on order status on dell website, link to UPS, had to verify my details then said that my order has been delivered to new york in june. Then i had to type in a order number again, that turned out to be accurate and the status is:Billing information received, when should i expect it cause right now im really confused

Well the UPS tracking system is still saying, Billing information received and that shipped/billed on: 27th (3 days from now) so is it going to get shipped on the 27th cause i imagine so if the EDD for the UPS tracking is 1st September

 

I have an email into my rep at Dell for this exact same issue. I ordered mine on the 11th and the edd was the 31st, I got an email the other day saying the 1st of september. I check with UPS and it still only shows the billing information received and like yours it's dated for the 27th.

 

good to know I'm not the only one let me know when yours is shipped, I'm expecting mine to be shipped on the 27th and turn up the 1st September, but somehow i just know it isn't going to go to plan.

 

*UPDATE* just been on the phone to dell and its was a very long conversation believe me LOL but anyways they said the your order will be with you on the 27th (the date I will be billed) so if yours is saying the same as mine runamonk i suggest yours is the same to but just to check

UPS should call you before your order (in my case and maybe yours this should be thursday night (27th being Friday)) i'd say if they don't call at 6pm you should call them to check if your order is coming and confirm time

suppose to get mine today but according to purolator Dell gave them a wrong address, called Dell and their customer support is close for the day ... sad

I ordered mine on the 9th, original EDD was the 24th but I got it by the 18th, I know a few other members also got theirs on the same day as me.

 

this just makes me sadder
the tracking number I have now says its been dispatched from hub so hopefully soon
do they ring 24hrs before or on the day of delivery. my friend had his call on delivery day. I'm in the UK just incase you're wondering.

 

I think mine is coming tomorrow, had no call today, however not everyone does get a call from UPS.

 

I've only ever gotten a call from UPS once. They are horrible, then again everything involved with customer service sucks here in the uk. I do miss the us sometimes now haha.

 

I just checked ups tracking for my order and it's finally changed and now the scheduled date says the 31st. I really hate UPS.

I bet you anything Dell was holding on to them waiting for a bunch of stuff going to the uk to pile up so they could send it all and get a better rate ugh. s LOL. I was really hoping it would be here tomorrow; maybe UPS is totally off the mark here and it will arrive tomorrow but I am not going to hold my breath. Although I will probably still hop up and look outside everytime I hear a sound out there haha.

Makes me feel like a kid on christmas morning or something.

 

I agree, seems like typical Dell behaviour! But at least I know now when its coming, so its easier to resume normal routine till then.

Mine was near where I lived, then travelled further, then back to Chelmsford lol. I have no idea why, it went from half an hour from my house to like two hours away.

Haha thanks! Unfortunately its in Tamworth now so I guess it won't come until Monday at least. It amazes me that they take it further from the destination than need be. I am studying Economics and have studied decision mathematics, this process seems very inefficient.

Just worked out why the EDD is on Tuesday, I guess they do not work weekends/bank holidays.

 

Monday is a holiday so tuesday

 

woooo I got a phone call driving to work today so I pulled over on the hard shoulder because I knew it was going to be them, they're delivering tuesday morning
