Strange, I'm having to download an 8GB patch. It's on the Steam News section, if you check. Anyone else get this?

There was an update on the 30th. Perhaps you haven't been on steam in ages and it's only installing now/ maybe the update was only released recently in your country?

The update wasn't 8GB, sure it wasn't 8MB which would have been normal?

Just checked imt out. I also had to install the 8Gb patch but it went straight to 7.8Gb. Also the 8Mb patch was for fixing the Snipers and inverting the controls of the Valkyrie rocket.

No improvement sorry. But the only way to fix the FPS a little bit is download nVidia's newest beta driver, it fixes Black Ops FPS a little bit. But if you're a R1 user like me you lose the hybrid feature (switchable GFX). Only way to barely fix it. Check out my guide below in my sig. Rep+ me if it helps

For me, the latest Nvidia beta (270...) was the breakthrough. The game still loads a little laggy (menu, then in-game as well), but then there's what I call a 'click' after a minute or so after which it plays fine. Before it didn't play fine; it was still laggy, albeit a bit better than pre-click.

    ^Wow epic bump bro!

Anyone have a fix for Black Ops NOW? Because the game still runs like junk on my R1.

I still haven't seen a fix for black ops as of recently... Game is just terribly coded for us PC users. Tryarch doesn't care, and at this point, just wait for BF3 or MW3, maybe moreso BF3, I've heard good things about optimization.
"If it's broken, don't fix it, but make money off it by releasing multitudes of addons." - I believe this is Treyarch's moto

I opened up a new one :p Nice bump.
For some reason YouTube was criticizing all my videos of copywrite infringement without (even though I had no music or anything).

I opened up a personal one right now (channel: MrDeevu) which has nothing special except an R2 playing Battlefield 3 in Alpha

as well as one I put together with my roommate on just random gameplay on starcraft2, warcraft, and apb (Channel: Qtsunited).

Unfortunately I could not save any of my R1 videos (I had over 30 on that channel).
