You shouldn't have any trouble with it, I haven't heard any news of throttling cards. If anything comes up just send me a PM and I'll get on it asap.
You can, it won't void your warranty.

From my understanding with GPU Boost 2.0, 80*C is like the max temp the GPU will go but it will like overclock itself base on temps. I could be wrong though because it's a mobile GPU, does anyone know?

- 14.0 inch (355.6 mm) WLED FHD (1920 x 1080) Anti-Glare Display
- Accidental Damage Service, 1 Year
Thanks for all the info guys! NBR has been a great resource during the "In-Production" wait! -
Broadcom 4352 802.11 ac 2x2 and Bluetooth 4.0, that's the same as the Killer NIC 1202 right?
I've been reading reviews on the 1202, and it's a very nice wifi card. Is the Ethernet port also Killer NIC?
All AW 14 models come with the Killer 1202 correct? -
I've read good things about the Killer NIC 1202 as well, but wanted to go with 802.11 ac as it's more "future-proof" with 802.11 ac most likely becoming the standard (as opposed to N) in the next few years. -
The top end models come with Broadcom. It supports ac which is gigabit wifi. -
So the Broadcom 4352 is better then the 1202?
-
Do the new models still come with Windows and driver discs?
-
802.11 ac (i.e. gigabit wi-fi) can be up to 3 times faster in bandwidth then 802.11 n in theory. Of course, to see this increased throughput you'd need to buy a new Wireless Router that supports the 802.11 ac standard (around $150-$200+ currently). -

Thanks for the pics Asher. I can tell from looking at the pics of the screen that it is IPS and has a very rich color which explains the 72% color gamut. I gotta ask you this though, if you can check real close, is the screen really clear without the smudgy grainy look on it? I know some Chi Mei panel especially their matte screens have that grainy look on their screens.
Can you also tell me what manufacturer the panel is? You can do this by going to your device manager then to monitors and then properties and then details tab then arrow down to hardware id. -

-
Did you order Windows 7 by any chance? -
Post some screens and benchmarks russchilds.
-
It did for me, windows 7 disc and resources disk -
Hope this helps you out (A) It's a little bit grainy if you move closer but I don't mind when using it with normal distance. -
Those seem like some decent temps so far
-
I feel this is the best laptop I could have gotten and I don't regret ordering this at all!
The quality of my pictures aren't great, sorry for that. I don't have much experience shooting on low ISO in a dark room
-
barely playable, but if you would set it one step lower it was great
edit: this was a response to: Asher, what FPS did you get when playing on Ultra? Might aswell buy the AW 14 than instead of the Clevo P170SM.

If you look around this thread you would find some more pictures but yeah..
If you still want them, here they are :
sorry for the really low quality, lighting conditions are really bad and I'm not an experienced photographer -
-
Sorry guess I just got want to see as many pics as I can. I was experiencing some doubt, but these have me anxious to get mine! Shipped today
Thanks for the pics  -
I love to help out but I thought you might not have seen the pictures I posted before haha
congrats on your new system! I'm sure you will be loving it just as much as I do -
Cheers -
Can you pick up chicks with this laptop? Maybe I should change my lights to purple. Lol

So I really like the screen. The one thing that's not that nice is the edge, it cuts in your wrists, but if positioned correctly it isn't a problem. One other thing is the switching between the GPU's, I don't quite understand it so I always use the reboot option (which is bound to fn + f5 ). But still not that much of an issue.
For me, this is the best laptop I could buy. I don't regret it at all!
Cheers!
edit: scrap that GPU thing, I didn't know about the white-list feature thanks to Kevinmcg I know it now -
Well, of course it says something about the person using it. But it isn't that over the top and it looks like a beast, so the ''çhicks'' wouldn't mind. So I think you wouldn't pick them up, but they won't think like ''what a geek!'' in a negative way. It's actually quite interesting instead of the always ruling macbook (ruling in the way most people have it). It's something different and I bet they'll like it.

That's an impressive game collection you got there on Steam, Asher .
-
Humble bundle made a lot of this possible, plus the steam discounts. I really love steam's cloud service I guess -
I ordered my computer on 6/14 with 1080p and 765m, my edd is 7/22 but i think its going to come much sooner? Anyone on the same boat. I live in Connecticut?
-
In regards to the keyboard, is it mechanical or membrane?

@Mysfit,
Gratz on your laptop bro, can you please post CPU/GPU load and idle thermals while gaming? Use HWMonitor if you can.
Thanks! -
I don't really need an mechanical keyboard anyway, but it kind of sucks that there was this guy in one of the e3 vids showing the alienware 14 and saying it has an mechanical structure to it (it was a person from alienware who said that).
But still the keyboard does a really good job and feels so nice -
-
Oooh I see.. thanks for correcting me then!
It's not like I expected a mechanical keyboard in the first place so I don't really mind . -
Could you take the back plate off? I've been dying to see what it looks like inside. -
Just ordered mine the estimated arivial date is 7/24 but i need it for summer school which starts that day... any hope of getting it earlier then expected?
-
Just order mine July 2nd, my EDD is August 1st x_X, I'm from México so it has to travel a long way to get here
