    Just run install HWMonitor run it on the background and play a video game while it's running. But for benchmarking you can run prime95 and 3dmark11. Please lost your idle and load CPU/GPU temps.

    Thanks AsherX

    Alright, I will try it as soon I get my alienware 14! I have the basic config with upgraded gpu ( GTX 765 ) and full-hd anti glare screen. I could post pictures if you guys want to, but since it's my first laptop I can't be giving any comparison. I'm not planning on a full review since I never did one so it would take a while to finish ;) . I hope that I really get my alienware on Monday, if so, I could post the temps on Tuesday/Wednesday, but we'll see how it turns out.

    In the Netherlands prices are ridiculous. They also don't sell an AW 18 here :(. I am still debating with myself if I should get an MSI or AW.

    okay, so I'm actually really impressed! I'm starting to love this little portable beast ;) here are my screenshots! The fan is relatively quiet, at least to me it is. I've never experienced the sound of the previous alienware's but I think they really improved it! crisis 2.png idle.png

    I played for about 15 minutes with crisis 2 on ultra and native resolution (full hd)
    I've got the 4700MQ with gtx765 and full HD screen, 750 gb hdd

    Those CPU temps are more like what i expected! Still great temps though!

    If you love us one last thing to test. The GT 650m Throttled at 67C. If you are able to watch the clocks and see if it clocks down at 67C it would be appreciated!

    @AsherX,

    So basically just to reconfirm, your playing Crysis 2 on Ultra settings with a 765m GTX on 1080P resolution (Laptop default resolution) max temps was 83*C CPU and 64*C GPU?

    From my understanding it's an IPS monitor correct? How's the picture in your honest opinion?

    Thanks soo much AsherX! +1

    I have the IPS with anti glare and I must say I love it! I'm really impressed of what this thing is capable of (it's my first laptop too). Here are some pics of the screen! I've taken them in darkened situation but the anti glare really does it job quite well!
    These pictures aren't that good but it gives quite an impression. Sorry for the mess on the background haha. I could say that in reality it really is much better, by far!

    If you download MSI Afterburner and go into options and have it display temps and clocks in game on the screen.

    Then if you are comfortable try to block the vent or run a game hard enough to see what happens if it breaks 67C for maybe 3 minutes? The GT 650m would downclock 300Mhz when it hit 67C for a 30 second duration. The keyboard would even flash red that it was "overheating" However this is a limit Nvidia coded in the vbios. Going higher will not damage the GPU. They just want to keep Mobile GPU overclocking limited so it doesn't compete with a counterpart thats 200 USD more.

    Since this is my first laptop I'm not sure if I should do it, since if I would do something wrong I wouldn't know what to do haha, so I think I might pass on this one. I'm getting a notepal x2 for extra cooling and when I get it I might try it, but for now it sounds a little dangerous for me, sorry mate..

    Did you get windows 7 or 7 professional? Can we remove the windows and Intel stickers or will that void our warranty?

    windows 7 home premium 64 bit

    I don't know about the stickers, I plan on moving them once it's clear. I don't think it would void warranty if you would move it to somewhere else on the laptop but I don't know for sure.

    would appreciate pics of this beast playing a game (crysis on max settings for instance) Id also like pics of the keyboard lit up and the lid. Do the keys have a nice feel or is it a pain to type on.

    Also have you played any longer than an hour? the fans were still quiet?

    @GamerJoe,

    If you are just removing the stickers that's on the palm rest then no they will not void your warranty. I like doing that also since it's more cleaner.

    I haven't had time yet to play for over an hour, but I can might make some pictures today, if not tomorrow! :) I really like the keyboard, and the lightning isn't that bright what makes it a lot friendlier to the eye ;) If I haven't posted the pictures in an hour it probably will be tomorrow :)
