Really nice LordBling, really nice. Happy to hear that after all you went through you finally got a great machine. I am going to charge the batteries in my camera so I can take picture sof mine when it comes in, maybe next or the week after...

 

I've defiantly lost the race

Just checked online and for for some unknown reason the retards at Dell have cancelled and then remade my order.

With a new Ship date of 8/15!!! (Ordered 7/7)

So, Later i'm going to call them and be an irate customer over the phone until they change my ship date back to 8/1 or I'm going to cancel my order

Surfing Ebay at the moment to see if i can get a similar spec off there that will ship immediately.

If it was any other laptop other than Alienware, at the first delay I would have canceled and changed to another brand. However, I've always wanted an Alienware so I'm willing to put up with their crap to a certain degree, however delaying it for a 4th time is just unacceptable

 

haha i ordered on the 27th and still didnt ship. they are probably gona delay me for the 5th time... I know how you feel

sigh. Laptop was supposed to ship. Still in production. If it gets delayed today again it'll be the 5th time.... I might just cancel the order and tell them to give me more discounts or something... cause this is just ridiculous

I placed my order on 7/20 and Dell website shows shipped today and will arrive on 7\30 but Fedex shows it will arrive tomorrow. I guess i should go with what fedex shows rather than dell since they are the carriers. But i think mine has shipped out in reasonable amount of time. It hasn't been cancelled or delayed a single time thus far. the person i chatted with on the dell website tole me it would take between 5 and 10 days production and up to 7 for it to ship. if it arrives tomorrow that makes a total of 9 days(7 days production 2 days shipping).

 

what wireless card did u purchase jimbo. I find it kinda unfair how you get it earlier than i do ... when i practically ordered a month before u did :/

 

I went with the stock wireless card. won't be using it a whole lot online.

 

Exact same thing happened to. Be careful and look over your new order. Mine failed to include the 900 screen and was defaulted to the lower res. Also, be prepared to cancel. I called support 3 different times and they are now prepared to process cancelled orders. Of course your milage may vary depending on who you call and who you get. Ordered 6/27 rescheduled 7/20, 7/28, Dell cancelled, new order wrong, cancelled, third order EDD of 8/9. I can't wait to see what happens by that date? It may be a surprise of a new EDD!!!

 

I threatened to cancel if I didn't receive it by a specific date (because I had an event I specifically bought the laptop for). I think that helped it get bumped up in the queue, especially since I was able to replace the order before they started calling a bunch of folks about the wireless card issue. I lucked out in that they upgraded me to the best wireless card, they didn't mess up anything when they replaced the order, and I got them to knock 10% off the order. In all, things worked out well. I hope they find a way to work out for you too.

 

Cancelled my order. They couldn't deliver on their 8/1 EDD. I cant afford to wait till the 8/15.

Problem is I dont live in the USA. So I cant wait forever for it to arrive. I'm only here till the 23rd. With the current ship date of the 15th, that leaves only a week before I leave the country. And with Dells reputation of delivering late I cant afford to take the risk that they wont deliver (As they previously have managed to do 4 times now) so I've decided to cancel my order and try and get one off ebay that will arrive sooner.

Just sad that I wont be getting a brand new Alienware Stupid Dell

 

Here is my "Official" response to my voice of opinion to Customer support with a request for compensation:

"I understand from your email that you are unhappy with the delay on your order number XXXXXXX and would like to get compensation.

I would like to inform you that an estimated delivery date is provided to you at the time of placing the order based on conditions at that time. Most of our orders are delivered to our customers within the time frame referenced at the point of sale. However, as all of our systems are custom-built to specification, we do occasionally run into unexpected delays in the manufacturing process. As informed to you earlier at the time of order processing, there may be a delay that even may subject to cancellation of the order, hence we are unable to guarantee any delivery date.

We value your business and are making every effort to minimize any inconvenience to you and would like to work towards a solution to your issue. I understand that this may be frustrating; however, we are unable to offer a concession for this issue."

Here is what I enjoyed the most of this email:

"How am I doing? You may provide feedback by e-mail to my manager"

No way am I ever again going to recommend Dell after this. Or at least I will warn my clients of random extended delivery dates of their products with erroneous re-submitted orders and lack of information.

 

Wow that sucks ordered mine 7/14 was shipped 7/25 got my tracking number to however it just says in route from us and I'm in canada but hopefully it well be hear soon edd was 8/1 but thats a holiday hear so do t see that happening

 

Ordered 6/27.. delayed 4 times and now officially canceled by Dell and reordered. Im thinking about calling a nice rep so if anyone knows any info of good ones please PM me! Im gona cancel my current order, order a new one with better specs, hope for a lot of discounts, a free backpack, mb even a free screen protector, and next buisness delivery...... if not then im gona complain hehe

 

Yeah, I ordered mine about the same timeframe (July 1st) and now am quoted a delivery date of August 10th. Geesh, I know they had their problems with their website configuring these things, and it could be certain parts are now more scarce .. but I never thought it would take THIS long to get that laptop out to me.

I'll continue to wait for now. Still don't need it immediately. But if I see one more delay, I'm going to cancel as well.

 

I ordered mine around June 18th and have not received it. Was told Aug 8th last time and when this came I canceled that order. Dell has yet to process the cancel request via Costco. If they send it now I will just return it for a full refund then. They need this type of response to help them know that we don't enjoy being played.

 

I ordered my m14x on sunday 7/24 and received an EDD of 8/8. Pretty much all of the parts are stock but I did include steam and WoW pre-installed, microsoft office, and an advanced warranty. Some of these stories are very upsetting but they're also beginning to make me worry that I'm going to be repeatedly delayed like everyone else . Should I be worried?

 

If you have to cancel, it's probably a good thing, because you forgot the most important upgrade: the 1600 x 900 screen, and if you don't go ahead and get that upgrade, you're stuck with the stock screen that limits the usability of your computer because less stuff fits on it.

amazing deal if i say so myself. Stacked student, Hot Summer promo code, and the current 5% off on alienware. got about 400-500 dollars off, but they arent willing to give me a back pack or nbd shipping :/.

 

I ordered mine on 7/20 and was delivered at 12:57 today. Too bad I'm out of town until Sunday. Looking forward to getting home to unbox it.

 

Ordered 7/24/2011. Initial estimate for deliver was 8/8/2011. Updated to 8/3/2011 on 7/27/2011 and then shipped 7/28/2011.

Current estimation for deliver 7/30/2011: On FedEx vehicle for delivery. I like FedEx better then UPS. UPS would have gotten it to a wharehouse...probably the one right in my city...and sat on it till the last day and not allow me to even go in person to pick it up. Yes, I have direct experience with that. FedEX is more like, we'll get it to you by that day or faster. UPS is just, we'll get it to you by that day, no earlier, you pay extra for that.


Well, here is hoping the product quility and build will go as well as the time it took me to get it, assuming Fedex doesn't screw up since I haven't taken delivery yet.....knock on wood......damn, it. Everything around me is glass and metal.

What was the final comment on the m14x screens? I saw old threads talking about 45% rgb or some crap? Not even sure what that means.... How does that differ from the m15x or m17x r3 screens and why were people complaining?

 

Well, my order from 6/27 has finally shipped, don't have tracking numbers yet but they estimate delivery for 8/2. I can't believe they are actually shipping it!

Production seems to be very fast at the moment. I ordered on 24.Jul.2011 and got it on 01.Aug.2011 including shipping from china and financing approval.

 

Managed to miss FedEx today.

Im almost certain they wait till you leave your house then show up to try and deliver stuff...

So disappointed that I have to wait till tomorrow. I canceled all my plans and am going to sit on my doorstep until it arrives

 

Ordered it this Monday 08/01. Found it amusing that the bag/backpack shipped yesterday but not the Laptop ..

I did not know that the laptop shipped from China. Is that for all newer orders? I am based out of WA state in the US.

Should I expect the Alienware laptop to ship from China? Just curious about the time frame I might be looking from shipping to receiving.

 

My case got here a few days after I ordered it.. The laptop only took about a week and two days after that, and it shipped from the US, but I chose 2-day shipping.

I should have chosen 2 day shipping but went the standard 5-7 day option.

 

At least my one came from china, according to tracking of UPS's shipment. Took nearly 3 days. But I ordered from Germany so maybe the americans will get it from US, who knows...

 

I ordered my alienware m14x on 6/27. I have been delayed 4 times. First three delays were because of "parts issues" apparently, the fourth one they told me was driver issues in the computer, and now they tell me there is no problems at all. There were to many orders placed for this specific model. I was on the phone with Dell for 4 hours. My order cancelled twice by dell and re-ordered by Dell. Ordered again on 8/3 EDD 8/17. I have had it with Dell and there customer support. I could of ordered a Mac and had it by now. I am so unhappy.. :'(

 

That's Dell for you. One of the main reason I return my m14x. No one there had a clue what's up with my order and I keep getting the run around. When I talk to a supervisor she told me she cancel the order it will not be ship to my house. LOL when I arrive that day, the laptop was already deliver O-o

EDD: 8/18

BTW, when I was placing the order the system stated as EDD 8/15

I then noticed that the Orion backpack was included in the order so I called (right next day 10:00am) to cancel that $99.99 add-on and they said they could cancel it since it was already on its way.

So even when dell.com states an EDD of about 2-5 weeks for the Orion backpack here's what the email said initially:
EDD: 8/22

Then I got the shipping confirmation email with this new data:
Shipped: 8/04
EDD: 8/09

BTW, the m14x itself is still in Production status.

 

Same thing happened with mine. EDD for the bag was like 2 months away, then I go and check online and find that it will be at my house the next day. It showed up.

They seem to just ship it at random. For weeks mine said 8/24, then suddenly it just turns up on 8/1 I think it was...

 

received mine...if you call enough they'll have it to you within a few days (instead of my 2 month estimated delivery date)....kind of annoying but whatever

 

Ordered on 08/01. EDD is 08/16. If it is not shipped by the end of the week I will give them a call. Backpacks original EDD was 08/18. It has already shipped and will be here 08/10.

 

Ordered mine on 7/30. Original EDD was 8/15. Made a phone call to Dell this morning to check on status and was told that it would be shipped by the 10th. Received an email from Dell that it was shipped today and EDD is 8/11. Tracked my package on Fedex's website and it is being delivered tomorrow!!!

 

Update from my side too. It has already shipped and my EDD is 08/13. Checked Fedex and EDD is actually 08/11. Excited.

 

I finally received my laptop and backpack on the same day (even though they shipped my backpack 2 days after the laptop). This is by far the quickest laptop I have ever used! It totally puts my Sony Vaio to shame.....The Bigfoot Killer Wireless works unbelievably well. I am picking up 4 bars worth of signal from my neighbors on both sides of my house - I'm really glad I opted for the upgrade.

 

Update::
My laptop was shipped yesterday and should be here tomorrow. Hopefully fingers crossed!
