    finally managed to order one! they didn't want to accecpt my payment with credit card like 5 times so I had to do a bank transfer and well... eta: 20th may :DDDD

    Got a call from my building manager... "Your computer is here. It's in a very nice box...I may take it home..."

    Thankfully she is hot in all the right ways, so I would pursue her to reclaim my machine, but still...I'm not there to take it. Please, expand my jealous with pictures and tidings of your joy.

    I ordered mine on the 19th too, I'm in NJ.
    It went "in production" by the 22nd.
    Then, on the 25th, it said "order changed"

    I called, they said that my "order changed", lol, then it said that there were new parts.

    so on the 25th, it got to "pre-production"
    on the 27th, it went "in production"

    shipped on the 3rd, and it was at my door on the 4th.

    Initially, when i ordered it on the 19th, i got the cheap shipping.
    I think because of the 'mistake' they gave me 1 or next day shipping.

    so even if i originally ordered it on the 19th, 15 days isnt that long of a wait.

    btw, when i initially ordered it, my estimated receive date was the 13 of may.
    and then when it re-ordered on the 25th, it said i wouldnt get it till the 23rd of may.

    Luck you! Dell Canada changes the price of M14X this afternoon....price goes up....They downgrade the CPU from 2720 to 2630 for the same price.

    I went back to their site today to confirm this. Yeah, the price has gone up close to $200 more for the same configuration. Glad I didn't wait any longer!

    Also, the m17x has also been raised in price. I was mulling over going with the m17x or the m14x. The same processor and ram for the m17x was going to cost me atleast $500 more. I realize that the screen is larger, and the video card is slightly better. The biggest issue I had with the m17x was the size and weight. I didn't want to have to try to lug around a huge beast with a massive screen - it is meant to be a laptop afterall.

    Depends on how it shipped. U can get it within 2 days if it's ups air saver or withing 4-5 if it's ups ground. Also depends on how close to you it's getting shipped from.

    Can I manually switch between nvidia and intel graphic cards? Also how can I tell if I have 3gb or 1.5gb for my gt555 setup. I ordered 3gb but when I clicked 3gb driver options on the driver disk on a fresh W7 install it showed up as if it was installing 1.5gb graphics drivers instead. Anyone have a WEI score for 3gb version? Also I got a 6.9 on my ssd rating but with the same ssd in my m11x I got a 7.8? Any ideas? I get a 7.5 on my i7-2820QM, 7.7 on my ram, graphics scores 5.9 and gaming graphics 6.9 and everything else sucks.

    UPS? Awww man that sucks. Usually UPS for me has crappy service and they deliver the package later in the day. When it's Fedex, I always get the package before noon.

    BTW about what time did it change to shipped? I recieved an email saying it would ship within 2 days on Monday but have yet to see any change on the order page.

    After years of wanting one, just ordered not only my 1st Alienware product but also my first laptop the m14x, apart from the Truelife screen upgrade totally stock, cant wait to recieve it, delivery is expected early June :( Hopes its sooner.
