I hope MINE ships today! I ordered the 10th. If it goes out in the next couple of days I will be so excited! Its 7 day shipping but the facility I usually get stuff from is in Nashville and thats only a little over an hour away so I should have it within 2 days after shipping. Finger crossed!

It was exactly one week for both of my laptops. And 7 days shipment in reality means 1-2 days. I have tracking number from FedEx and it is shipped today/scheduled to be delivered tomorrow.
You'll get yours guys the latest (being pessimistic) by the end of week, most likely sooner.

I really hope so. It would be nice to finally know what its like to be one of the lucky people who get theirs in a week or so. When I ordered my M14x R1 lucky me got it delayed cause they had a shortage on wireless cards and it took 3 weeks. Heres to being optimistic! lol

The mSATA is the only thing I noticed on the orders of those who are waiting. red grenadine's shipped and he doesn't have one on his. I didn't see builds posted for any of the others who've had theirs ship already.

If yours has shipped already, did you opt for an mSATA?

In my opinion, for $600 clams, who cares about a few dead pixels. If I paid twice as much it would be a different story

I see youre over in GA. Did your M14x come from Nashville?

Dell received my order the 10th so just seeing if ours may have been built at the same facility. My last Alienware came from Nashville.

I agree for the most part, however another poster had a stuck bright pixel near the center of the screen. I imagine that'd get old quick having to look at that.

SO angry. Waited around my house all day, watched out the window, jumped up at every large sounding vehicle...Just to have my tracking say "Failed attempted delivery". No door tag, no knock, and I had even put a note on my door asking him to knock loudly. I guess since it was raining, the driver decided to skip a couple deliveries.

I called his manager and told him it's BS and that I expect my delivery today. The manager also vouched for the driver, saying he is reliable. Really, not so sure about that...

It seems 100% of the time I deal with Fedex, there's some form of shenanigans.

That's FedEx. Very typical and happened to me before couple of times. I'd give them another chance (if you feel like it) and if they pull this trick again just go pick it up yourself so they don't send it back to Dell.

Yeah sometimes I wonder about them. I do the same thing you do jumping up at every loud sound or standing in the doorway when you think theres a truck nearby. This past weekend I was tracking a package when all of a sudden it said delivered and left on porch but No one ever came! So of course I called FEDEX and had a tracer put out and an hour later the FEDEX guy delivered my package. ? Apparently he had to go to THE WRONG ADRESS and retrieve the package to bring it back. I could see the post office making that mistake but FEDEX??? Funny how he knew exactly where it was left if he thought it was correct in the first place right?

Another time I had an important package coming and sat around waiting all night only to have the tracking info update saying there were hazardous conditions and they couldnt deliver. The weather was fine and there was no construction anywhere near me... I honestly think the driver just wanted to go home that day.

Lucky for me FEDEX is literally about 5 miles down the road and ill go pick that shhh up if they pull that crap on me

Yeah, well I raised hell and the manager called the driver up and he told me the driver would come by "again". Right now I'm just debating whether to be nice to the driver, or confront him about it. I do have an M17X coming too, so I might not want to mess with him.

    From slickdeals:

    To track your shipment:
    1) Go to FedEx's website and search by reference number. https://www.fedex.com/AltRefTracking?cntry_code=us
    2) Enter your order number (from the confirmation email) as the reference number and complete the destination country and zip code. The account number can be left blank.
    3) Click "track".

My order still says in production, however fedex indicates that it will actually be delivered to me tomorrow! Those that have gotten theirs have said that their fedex tracking numbers actually stated they were sent out 2-3 days prior to dell saying that they were.

Well I must say, pretty slick machine. Plays Diablo 3 like a charm. I didn't have any dead pixels on mine if that's an issue with this model.

Glossy screen annoys me (My thinkpads are all matte) but I'll get used to it playing indoors

Good luck receiving your machine everyone

Received mine yesterday as well and had no issues, unbelievable performance for the 554 dollar price point. Major pricing error. I think I'll swap in an SSD with the savings.

Guys! I just checked my order status and I have a tracking number! It JUST now updated on dell but when looking at the FedEx site it says it was picked up yesterday morning in GA and is now at my local FedEx! Estimated delivery is TODAY!

Also what some are saying about it taking a few days to update is right. FedEx received the shipment information on the 13th

Maybe consider doing your own DVD-SSD bracket conversion? Or mSATA drives are pretty cool too. That's what I'm doing with mine. So I have a 60GB mSATA drive and my 750GB spinner.

I'd just really hate to have to do without some decently sized storage...

Anyway, harassing the Fedex manager paid off - driver came to my house at about 7 PM. It was an AWKWARD exchange, because he likely knew that I knew he tried to screw me over. The machine is beautiful and perfect - mSATA is coming in the mail today!

ROFL the dell site is so bugged! Mine still says "in production" but it now also lists my tracking number. Since doing the fedex look-up trick I knew that it was shipped yesterday and would be here today.

Yes, it's still work in progress. I'm in no hurry to modify M14x as yet (my wife will be using it for awhile), I'll wait for SSD price to go down a little bit.
Btw, I see that you ordered almost the same thing as I did - both M17x and M14x with very similar configs. Great people think alike? :D

I just called Dell to ask about the warranty since Basic was the only option when ordering through AAFES. Just making sure you guys know that you have 21 days to call and purchase/update the warranty to Advanced. I was told after 21 days you WILL NOT have an option to purchase it.

This was the one thing I was missing on my order from AAFES because I want to make sure I am COVERED for whatever may happen to this thing. With all the extra money we saved on these, its definitely a great idea I think.

As soon as I get my laptop ill call with the service tag and add it to mine so ill have peace of mind that if some idiot out there in the world spills something on it or knocks it off a table, etc.. I have nothing to worry about

My order was placed on the 10th and is out for delivery now so im not so sure about that, unless I just got lucky

    EDIT:
I DID however build it & add it to my cart the 8th and pay for it the 9th. Dell didnt receive the order until the 10th though so maybe its for the ones who actually built it and paid for it the 10th which means I got Extremely lucky.

The only thing thats causing them to be so much more now is the fact that you have NO CHOICE but to pay for the 2 year warranty AND Microsoft Office. Thats $400 right there alone. And I think its more to upgrade the processors now.

I placed my order on AAFES May 9, Dell received it May 10. My status went from In Production to Changed today. Called Dell, they said AAFES cancelled it. Called AAFES, they said there was a pricing error and they were canceling all orders associated with it and those that did ship would either be recalled or demanded the customer pay the corrected price. They did however reinstate my previously cancelled order for the same build @ $1007 (i7 3610, 6gb, 900p, 750gb + 32gb mSATA, 650m 1gb)

That being said, they cant charge me for what I dont have so minus the $400 from the 2 year warranty and Microsoft office id still have to come out of pocket $430 to match the current pricing for the configuration I chose. I would still save a lot of money on the bright side

D@mn! Ill be damned if Dell isnt calling me right now!.....whew I was so nervous, it was about the order I cancelled last week before making this one lol. Talk about freaked out. I was so ready to start using this silver tongue to try and make a deal haha

Ok so I guess the best thing to ask now is Has anyone who has already received theirs heard anything??

They can't possibly demand their laptops back or make you pay for it. If they even tried this, they'll be in so much world of trouble that they would be glad to give those laptops for free and pay some extra just to calm down the 'Katrina' that would hit both AAFES and Dell.

Well I was thinking that myself but I wouldnt put it past any company to try something like that. I personally believe that if it truly was an error on their part that we should not have to be punished becasue of it.

I already had one being built until I stumbled across this deal and then canceled it. There is no way its going back now. If they call and demand money, I wonder if the word lawyer would sway them.
