Then it could still be a windows 10 issue, You Aorus has different drivers, maybe even a different build of windows, there are alot of factors that could case an "issue" like this.
Wouldn't really call it an issue tho, it's not affecting the use of the system in anyway.

It's not an issue because it's not happening to you, however if you spend 1500-2000 little stuff add ups and become an agitation

The Aorus in question was the v5, i.e. with 9-series graphics. So it seems to be something affecting Pascal only, and maybe Win 10 only, and moreover, for some reason this only seems to be a problem on 1060 (have not seen stutter reports on 15/17 with 1070/1080).

It happens to me as well, but only the battery thing, and only after my laptop has just booted up.

Is it the picture or does the track pad have individual zones to it? Thought it was solid colour?

It's the picture. Had it solid blue but turned out a bid weird on the photo. I've set it to bright red now, it looks literally "hot". Wonder if I can fool someone with it :)

Hey guys, since in the beginning of this thread, people were talking about a laptop bag in which they could fit a AW13 R3.
I just tried out the " Case Logic DLC-115" and my AW13 R3 fits in it perfectly, even has some space left. Also no issue of bringing your charger with you in this bag.

(I have had this bag for a while now and i like the quality of it.)

I have just received 2x OLED AW13's. One AW13 has the 180gb sata and does stutter, the other has the 256gb NVME ssd and does not stutter!

What SSD did you order? could it be an issue with the ssd?

Has anyone tried to use a kensington/security lock on their AW13? I've tried a kensington and a targus are both are too big for the slot on the AW13. Are there different sizes for these? I've only used the one on my work laptop (Dell Latitude) before.

those of you who received their laptop, when did you place your orders?

on top of the "build complete" being removed they added 3 days to the end of the ETA.
i ordered the cheapest oled config, so i do not see why they are taking so long.

OK that is odd then. Might swap the SSD's between models later to see if it is the machine or the SSD/windows build.

I also get the same stutter when I change the desktop background

Uggh. Fedex has been a nightmare to deal with on this. They tried to ship my laptop to my neighbor yesterday, even though our doors are clearly labeled with the house number. Today they attempted delivery after I left for work. I attempted to "hold package" at Fedex location but they won't do it because the shipper won't allow it. The stupid part is, they will attempt to deliver tomorrow a 3rd time, and if that fails, THEN they will hold it at the facility. So dumb! Not to mention it's probably bouncing around in a truck in 23 degree F weather, I'm sure that's good for it.

Can anyone suggest a OS backup tool?
So a program that creates an image file of the current state of the main ssd and allows you to restore it again to that image?

(Acronis does not seem to work, because it doesn't detect the NVME SSD.)

I'm just curious why anyone feels the need to backup the OS? I was planning to just write down the Windows 10 key in case I needed to reinstall.

Did you use the windows application? Because i booted off that restore disc that you can create with acronis but it didnt see the PM961, only my external ssd.

Because, currently my latop is in a clean like state with some of the programs that i will always use, and i would just like to have a backup of how it is right now.
So if it screws up somehow, (we all know that Microsoft is pro at this) that i can just instantly restore it to how it was.
Writing down the key is the first thing i did :p

Also could some please check if their battery connector is like this?

    http://m.imgur.com/iWgEMUC

Not sure how that happend in the factory.... but luckily i was able to fix it with some very small tweezers.

Does this program Macrium Reflect automatically monitor which files are new or changed for when I choose to backup? Just wondering, I am considering it. There isn't much info on the website about how it works.

what are you guys doing to resolve the microstuttering?

i uninstalled all dell/alienware drivers and programs and it seems to be a bit better but hasn't been fully fixed yet.

seems like this is a gtx 1060 problem though.

I tried to reformat the whole laptop, the micro stutter dint stop :( now I'm having a ***** of a time updating the OLED LCD in device manager (it show up as PnP Generic Monitor) and I cant figure out for the life of me of how to make Tobii do facial recognition, I emailed Tobii help rep, hopefully they can give me some help.

so before you reformat your comp, make sure you know how to get those problem figure out and yes I am using the drivers on Dell website, for some reason the LCD just would not want to install!

    Hi. Had a few questions.
    1) The mx300 that you 'popped in' was in the secondary slot with the default drive still left in the primary drive, right? I am planning to install a 1TB 850 EVO in the secondary slot for mass storage. All I have to do is install it and format it in disk management?
    2) Factory mode is permanently disabled with the fn + x method or do you have to do it on every boot?
    3) Did your AW13 already have a screw in the second M.2 Slot or did you have to find one separately?

Sorry, a bit new to this stuff.

Yup. Disconnect battery cable, press power button a few seconds to ground it. Put in the SSD and reconnect power. Rightclick my computer, manage, go to storage section. The ssd should show up there and can be configured. It was kind of strange to see that my new drive was disk 0 and the boot drive disk 1, but it works.

Just once to disable it permanently although you need to be quick. From the other post I read you can push fn + x again to finish some kind of test maybe I should do that.

It had a screw in it and the mx300 came with 2 screws as well.

I really need to set up some kind of power saving scheme because the battery just runs empty while I'm looking at it. The screen is amazing but it draws a lot of power. I tried the dark theme stuff in Chrome but it just looks weird to me...

It should be worth it if you plan on using the device for that long. What I would suggest is that you buy the device and sign up for Dell Advantage with financing. That way, you get 10% cashback on your purchase. Then you can use the 10% cash back to separately purchase the extended warranty and pay the rest of the financing off after a month or two.

Can someone do a screenshot of the device manager for me? specifically under monitor.

also, to determine if the micro stutter is cause by the pascal GPU, can someone disable the Nvidia GTX under device manager and see if it still stutter? I'm at work right now, so no Lappy :(

Many received it in manufacturing. Convert to normal mode and youll be fine. The battery wont charge to 100 percent without converting.
