I'm experiencing PL2 flags on TS at very low frequencys and low TDP W and my max frequency is stuck at 2.8 GHz. Turbo isn't disabled and I have undervolted to 85 -mV. What else can I try to stop the CPU from TDP throttling PL2 at such a low frequency and TDP W?? Thanks guys

CPU performance mode also forces the fans at 2300rpm even when the system is idol and around 40C, it is very annoying during the night when i leave the computer on for torrents. Turning off CPU performance the fans stays at 0rpm on idol

from XTU it looks like your cpu reached beyond 95C temps and in GPUz Intel GPU is used instead of nvidia since you have optimus.

Uninstall XTU and install throttleStop. Uncheck BD PROCHOT after you open TS. Make sure you turn TS ON.

Kills off firmware based throttling and nearby component's thermal monitoring if it is set below 90C and will throttle CPU speed if it hits more than 95C.

You should also create a task in task scheduler to start TS when users log on. You need to give highest rights in order for the program to start.

Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening all. I have a intermittent dilemma, my CPU i7 7700HQ is PL2 (power limited exceeded-Yes) intermittently and goes away after a few days after shutting down the laptop and starting it up again. It does it every 3 or 4 days I get Power limited exceeded in HWINFO and PL2 in Throttlestop. This happens at idle and not even on load when stressing the CPU out. My CPU is limited to 2.8Ghz and max 20 Watts TDP on load while playing a game. Is this hardware related fault or just firmware/ BIOS related and it wont help to RMA? Please advise. Like I said its intermittent and doesnt do it all the time. Thanks all.
