Worn touchpad surface... Any options?

What are my options for replacing a extremely worn touchpad surface on a Dell lattitude D630? Or should I just live with it?

 

The touchpad is part of the Palm Rest. So, your only option is to possibly replace the palm rest, if you can find a new one to buy...
Call Dell, they might replace it for you.

Is it worn to the extent of affecting functionality or just acquired a well-used appearance?

If so, you could possibly try polish or car wax...

 

I wouldn't do that. The polish may confuse the ability of the touchpad to sense finger movements.
