    Hey guys.

I used to have a Dell M90 with a Nvidia quadro 3500m. I did replace it for a Dell precision 6300 with a Quadro 3600m. Wrongly, Dell send me a workstation with a NVIDIA Quadro FX 1600M 512MB TurboCache.

I called Dell and a few weeks later I got another laptop with the NVIDIA Quadro FX 3600M 512.

I had to return the one with the 1600M 512, but before I did test both with the software i use for VFX, Autodesk Combustion. A software to do 2D vfx.

I'm a compositor and director but I'm not a technical computer wizard, so what I did, I loaded in combustion HD footage.

10 secs of 1920x1080. In both computers I did exact the same.
I copy and paste the layer 3 times so I have 3 layers in my comp, of 1920x1080.

I apply a mask to each layer. Then 6 particules in between the layers and color correction to each layer.

When I play back at best, the 1600M always beat the 3600M
When I play back medium, the 1600M beat the 3600 for 4 to 5 secs.

Now...when I rendered to quicktime uncompress at best, the 1600 Surprisly beat the crap out of the 3600m for 1m 27 secs.

    I couldn't believe it.

Also I did another test putting differents effects suchs AE distortion, AE lightning and many others and the 1600m always beat the 3600m.

As I said I do not know how to test these things, so I did what I do everyday, that's put HD footage in combustion, apply effects and render them and for me, the NVIDIA Quadro FX 1600M 512MB TurboCache is faster than the 3600M with Autodesk Combustion.

Laptops were side by side with exactly the same footage, effects, etc.

So I'm about to return the 3600m.

    Cheers.

    1. Use the standard font as it's difficult to read and annoying.
    2. Are the drivers the same? Update to the latest one if not.

Not at all. I just don't like the attitude of FTB telling me "my font is difficult to read and annoying".

Is he stupid or what. He can't read properly. What is he's F!@#$%^ problem. As I said, he needs some PUSS# to see a bit better.

Unless you're doing 3D modeling, it's the processor doing the rendering work, not the video card.

Thanks for the tip. The processor is Intel Core 2 Duo T9300 (2.50GHz) 6M L2 Cache, 800MHz Dual Core.

I want to keep of course the one with the biggest video card but the 1600m performs better. What would you do???
