    Dell forum,

    Windows XP Home Edition SP3

I recently installed a TP-LINK TL-WN861N wireless mini card in my
Dell D400 latitude laptop. It works great except my system will
no longer come out of stand by or hibernate modes. If I disable
the wireless network connection it comes out of either mode.

    Any suggestions?

Did you try updating the driver through TPLink's website? Did you try messing with the hibernation/sleep settings in the wireless card settings?

    Tsunade,
    Thanks for the reply.

I've tried all your suggestions with no luck. I even contacted TP-LINK
support and they suggested a driver that didn't work at all.

Have you tried another wireless adapter and get the same results? Perhaps try reinstalling the OS and see if that fixes it?

    Tsunade,
I had a "G" wireless adapter card that didn't have the problem.
The new one is an "N" adapter. If I reinstall the old card
there is no problem so I don't think it's the OS.
