After spending months having audio/wi-fi issues running Vista Home Premium as well as a finicky touchpad with Windows 7 RC, I decided to "downgrade" to Windows XP SP3 to see how my system would perform.

Well, after using the laptop for a solid week, I can honestly say that it is the stable it has ever been, with absolutely no driver issues whatsoever.

I haven't been able to find any issues so far with the OS, components, or any software thrown at the system. The one negative thing I have to mention is the lack of any decent "power management" or "battery life optimization"; that was something Vista and 7 did better, unless I'm missing something.

Since I can't find a compatible version of the Dell QuickSet software, does anyone running XP know of any other great 3rd party power management tools?
