    Hello all,

I'm running Windows 2008 64 bit on Dell Latitude e6400. Most everything works. The only issue is the Ethernet Gigabit adapter. The Vista 64 bit driver exists stating that no hardware was found. Dell supports says this laptop was specifically designed for Vista, no Win 2008 support if provided.
    Anyone has any ideas?

    Thank you.

Have you tried the drivers for 82567LM directly from Intel ?
Click this link and select the OS you want :)

    No go.
Intell installation ends with "Cannot install drivers. No Intel(R) adapters are present on this computer."
    HELP!

I dunno, I haven't installed 2008 on an E6x00 but we can try to cheat a little.

I'm guessing it's for running 2008 x64 ? If so download the intel driver here

Then you want to just extract the drivers, but not install it.

    <intel driver filename> /s /e /f <destination path>

After this go to the network device in device manager from the driver tab manually install the driver by pointing to the folder you extracted the intel drivers to.

    Hope this works for you.

    Guys thanx for helping.
Still no go. Manual install results in "Could not find driver software". A choice to do nothing or check for solution online is given. No solution is found online. I'm stumped.....

    Wow! This had worked!
I had to try a couple of times since the list of drivers is big.
I ended up dual-booting into Vista to check the ethernet adapter driver there to find out actual model I have. It turns out I have 82567M.
Knowing that I booted back into Win 2008 and repeated steps. All is great now.
Thank you all for your support!
Now I know I can buy MSDN for the development/testing I need knowing that my hardware will work.

    Thank you very much.

    You're very welcome.
Glad you got 2008 installed. It's a fantastic OS.

You'll need this guide to make it into a great workstation OS. Just go to the bottom of each page and click on the Page nbr.... for the next page. Many great tips and screenshots !

    Edit:
Almost forgot ! I think you'll like this too
