    Hi all,
I sucessfully installed windows 2003 server on Dell Latitude E6400. All the devices are working fine now. I would like to share with you my experience as below:

    1. Suppose you have successfully installed Windows 2003 on Dell E6400: there are many topics instruct how to ingergrate the SATA controller driver to windows installer using nlite. I will not repeat this.

    2. You MUST know exactly what the device model in your machine: harddrive, network card, wireless card, video card. I get this information because i have installed windows Vista on this machine before.

    3. Download all the latest XP drivers/applications for E6400 from Dell (use service tag to locate the download). DO NOT download the drivers/applications for windows Vista. Most of the ones used for XP can be used for windows 2003. Also, some other drivers need to be downloaded from the device manufacturer website, such as Dell. All the drivers MUST be unzipped/extracted to perform step 4 below.

    4. You have to MANUALLY install all the drivers, none of them can be installed using the XP installer (from device manager > update driver > have this > specify the driver folder)

    Best luck to you.
    Regards.

Just to warn you about another problem to my Dell Latitude E6400. Many users mentioned but no solution existed or provided by Dell so far:

"All remote desktop software crashes on Latitude E6500 with NVIDIA Quadro NVS 160M"

    http://en.community.dell.com/forums/p/19254128/19427930.aspx

Well, this really disappointed. Imagine a computer without remote desktop...

The thread you just posted is in regards to Ubuntu Linux... what relevance does that have to Windows 2003 server?

How'd you get the nic driver to install? I've been kicking this thing around my office all morning. It won't recognize it when I try to point to the xp32 driver folder.
