why is the 8600gt not offered in vostro 1510?

    if the 1510 is meant to replace the 1500, why is it weaker in performance? and dell is charging 199$ for a 256mb 8400gs, now this is messed up. maybe old news for you guys, but its an outrage for me. is this tatic employed to boost xps m1530's sales?

    If Vostro 1510 had the 8600gt, XPS 1530 sales will go down of course. Yes I think this is the main reason. Also they still want to sell more Vostros 1500.

    you can only find the 8600m gt in the vostro 1710 and m1530. They just don't want conflicting products.

    They are moving the vostro series back to a business computer where it should have been initially. We got lucky that they offered the 8600gt before, but it wont happen again. If you want a gaming laptop you have to go to the xps line now.
