What were the main reasons for you getting the E6400?
    - built tough - seems so
    - low keyboard flex - i like it
    - LED display - much better than my dingy d600 screen that broke
    - Got it for a lot cheaper than the T400 (at least here in Canada)

    Were there any pleasant surprises?
    - The outside striated/striped finish is very nice
    - I kind of like vista!

Overall are you very pleased with the E6400?
    - I dont like the heat or the fan but perhaps a future bios might fix this. I got it with integrated graphics because I thought there would be less heat but its still more heat than I expected.

Do you feel that it is easily portable or is it portable but it is a pain?
    - its kind of thick but overall its a small laptop and even if its 1-2 pounds heavier, it doesnt make a large difference for me at least carrying it around. I have it in a zeroshock III sleeve in my backpack.

This surprises me. I have a very similar spec and it is difficult to get the fan to go into high speed (in my case heavy memory usage is the trigger, not the CPU temperature).

RMClock works fine with the P8600 so I suggest you read the undervolting guide. My P8600 runs at a maximum 1.05V instead of the pre-set 1.1375V which helps keep the temperature down.
