who here owns a E series or M and can compare to Thinkpads

    I'm writing this off my tanklike T43....
    Have a T61 as well in my stash.

    I had a brief chance to play with the E6400. Keypad was not as nice as my IBM which is important to me.

    Screen - blehh.. maybe it's just me but on the newer T61 and even the E6400, I'm just not a fan of the backlit LCD. I dunno what it is but it just seems a bit more *washed out* with the backlit IMO.

    Regardless, the size and weight of the E6400 was nice. It has the 6 cell battery.

    Just wondering for those that are familiar with both competing brands.

    The screen may have looked washed out because of the backlight brightness. I'm running my E6400 at about half brightness. The full brightness is only needed under very aggressive lighting conditions, such as outside.
