If you're getting a Dell brand flat panel display, the stand designed for the LCD will probably look nicer and take up less space.

On the subject of monitor stands ... can anyone explain to me why Dell is charging so much for the CRT stand for e-series????

They sell the monitor stand for D-series online for $39 in the US. The same thing for E-series down here in Aus is priced at $452!!!!!! This is just for a plastic stand with a button on the front to let you hibernate your computer (as far as I can see it doesn't even have the hard disk light of the old D-series one).

I'd really like to get the Dell stand but I'm not up for extortion ...

The E-Monitor Stand on the US site is $79. The only way this stand could cost $452 is if it included the port bit, or is a typo, or is a rip-off. So, call Dell and find out.

    Official forum rule:

"For text signatures: 4 lines normal size, 8 lines small size (when viewed in the Notebookreview.com style) and up to 90 chars per line. Font sizes above 2 are not allowed. (Blank lines count as lines.)"

Seems a moot point since the system automatically limits signature character count.

It does seem like a moot point, doesn't it?
You're clearly new here though, and haven't seen signatures with large fonts that are not allowed, signatures with large pictures, signatures with 8-10 lines of text...
    I'll let it slide.
