    is the e5500 the only one that doesn't have it?

    The E6400/E6500 have them. I'm unsure about the E4xxx notebooks.

    If the E5500 doesn't have one, niether will the E5400.

    The trackpoint is optional on E5400 and E5500.

    E4200 and E4300 will always have it, just like E6400 and E6500.

    In the pics E5400 has it , but E5500 doesn't - what the heck? What do you mean its optional, where can I select the option to have it or not to have it?

    how much did your e6400 cost you? i'm looking at getting an almost identical configuration, but 15.4 size maybe.

    Cost me $1299 before taxes and the $5 environmental fee. I also got free shipping. I told him that if I configured that exact config in the States it was $1205. (which it was)

    If you configure it online, you can select three options: Single-pointing (touchpad only), dual-pointing (touchpad+trackpoint) and dual-pointing with fingerprint reader. If you configure it on the phone, it should be the same, just ask the rep.
