    Hey

I recently installed Windows 7 on my Vostro 1510. Audio works great but the internal mic does not seem to work or be detected in Windows 7. How can I fix it or/and reinstall the drivers? Thanks.

I'm having to guess here, not having your hardware / software combination.

The place I would start is to right click on the speaker icon in the system tray (or W7 equivalent) and select Open volume control. Then go to options > properties and go through the mixer device options until the recording option becomes active, then select it. This should bring up a mixer for the recording devices. Make sure the correct input (digital mic?) is enabled.

But there is no option for a internal mic....Just for the microphone 3.5mm plug.
Where can I find the drivers?

I'm assuming that you are sure that there is an internal microphone. On some models it is an option, usually combined with a webcam.

The Vostro 1510 drivers are here. There are no Windows 7 drivers so you will have to try the Vista drivers. If that doesn't work, Google for "Windows 7 Realtek ALC268" and see what you can find.

Yes, Ive used the internal mic when I had Vista on this.

Are you sure I have a Realtek ALC268? Someone told me about Sitgma drivers or something...

Dell's download site lists the Realtek ALC268 as the only audio driver for the Vostro 1510.

See for yourself here. If you enter your service tag then you will get a list of the drivers for your hardware configuration. In the absence of Windows 7 drivers, try using the Vista 32 bit drivers.

The problem is the drivers on Dell's site are WAY older than the drivers on the Realtek site. Ill try later and see if the Realtek site is fixed.
