Did you face any abnormal color when you upgraded? the screen i got from them works but the color is really off. it's like i have FLUX turned on 24/7 which removes blue colors on the screen.

Not at all, in fact it actually looks like a higher quality screen then the original Dell one I had in there. (Keeping in mind the E5440 is known for having a crappy screen in the base model).
I suggest you send it back, they were really good with the customer service when I did. You probably have a faulty product. First you should make sure you got the connector pushed in all the way. I've made that mistake before and the colors were off, but you sound like a smart guy so I'd bet there's something wrong with the screen.

Unfortunately it is my fault that I didn't message them to do a quality check before they sent it to me. I'm located outside the US and sending it back will cost more than the screen itself.

But this should have been found out from quality control stage and shouldn't even have reached the stock room. The screen looks perfect and is in fact new; but the moment i plugged it in I noticed a difference. oh well..

i plugged and replugged several times with no effect. I plugged the old screen back and that works fine. Just bad luck I guess..
