I have decided to get a dell precision laptop from the dell outlet for college next year and I was wondering when is the best time to buy?
At first I was going to wait for the windows 7 upgrade program around the 1st of July, but will the program even apply to refurbished laptops?
Do the precision laptops in the outlet have vista business 64 bit or 32 bit?
Also, if I wait until the upgrade program begins will many of the laptops in the outlet be sold out because of other people who decided to wait also?

i would just buy right now.. not much difference from windows 7 and vista..
it is probably a 32bit unless it has 4gb+ ram on the computer. windows 7 upgrade program might not apply (not sure) on refurbish items..

If you can hold out half a year to a year you'd be much better off. By 2010 we will have solid state drives standard, mobile Nehalems, etc. I had planned to buy a new system, but instead I'm doing some upgrades to my old POS notebook until all this solid new stuff is available.

Even if you don't want this stuff, it'll make a Core 2 Duo system MUCH less expensive.
