What is the highest Optimus enabled spec I can go with the M6700 Covet?

    OK - had the think, given lack of Optimus will probably go with 8770W instead.

    Curious, but why not go with the non-Covet version. Sure its not red, but neither is the 8770W. At least with the M6700, you'd be able to use optimus.

    The colour really isn't a big issue - yes, if I went M6700 I'd probably have gone with the standard colour, it was just easier to pick the Covet for the baseline high spec to start with. The better quality of the Elitebooks and commonality between what I have (I have several 8760W's and 8570W's already, and only one M4700 - which given the situation I will now be replacing fully with the 8570W) is however a factor since both don't have Optimus in the config (with the IPS screen) I want them in.

    So in any case it's done, the 8770W's are ordered.

    ... and to bookend this thread, curiosity got the better of me so the Covet has become the latest impulse purchase. I've not ordered the Elitebooks with the XM but have fully maxed out the M6700C this time around. We'll see how they compare.
