As the title says, I would like to ask what exactly is a battery slice? Just a bigger battery or does it adapt on the already existing ones?

And how does it look like?

From DELL's website I cannot understand much...

    Tnx!

Battery slice is a big flat battery that fits on the bottom of the notebook. Hooks up via the dock connector.

Does the slice itself have a dock-port? Can you dock the computer and slice combo and that way charge both batteries?

Nope it does not have a dock connector (unless you count the one that you connect to the laptop). You have to use the standard charger to recharge the slice battery.

For my needs the slice battery is great though, don't regret a second that I bought it.

Edit: I have an E4200 slice battery, maybe it's different for the other E-series laptops.
