I like my M6400. Except that I am sick of the noise the fans make.

My M6300 runs at hotter temperatures without the fans almost ever kicking in for light applications. As a result it is a pleasant quite piece of kit to work with.

The M6400 is loud and annoying in the continuous on-off cycles. Notebook coolers with fans do not work well in my experience.

Has anybody tried water cooling the M6400? I don't care about losing portability.

I have seen something that makes sense at http://www.instructables.com/id/Make-a-removable-laptop-water-cooler!-And-other-co/

Water cooling for notebooks still has a long way to go, not practical enough for portable use. Its not a feasible option mostly due to the havoc it could cause.

You could try as hard as you want with try to watercool but in the end of the day you still wont be happy with the result.

As whizzo said a desktop would be the way to go.

I know it is hard, I know it is non standard I am asking if someone out there has tried something that works on the M6400.

I happen to have several desktops. I need a laptop.

interesting. seems like a good idea. Thats if you dont bring your m6400 anywhere. If you do decide to go this route, maybe take lots of picture and make a right up.
