    Hi,
I've to buy a mid range budget laptop for my small works, web surfing, office and productivity software, listening music, computer programming, video chat and conference, movie streaming and Viewing...

I searched through net and found these three:

    Dell Vostro 3550 2nd Gen Ci3/ 2GB/ 320GB
    Dell Vostro 1550 2nd Gen Ci3/ 4GB/ 500GB
    Dell Vostro 1550 2nd Gen Ci5/ 2GB/ 320GB

I'd like to know which is best one in performance, reliability and power. which one should be best for me.

    thanks for listening.

What is the cost of each of them? That's an important factor, because there may be even better options available for the cost.

For around the $499 price point, I'd go with the Vostro 3555. AMD A8 with HD6620g graphics, which handily beat the Intel HD3000.

In short at $499, you'll have to pick what you want it to be good at... Games? Or productivity?

AMD's CPU cores aren't as powerful as Intel's. Then Intel's GPU isn't as powerful as Llano's GPU. If you can settle with Arrandale level performance, then the AMD Vostro 3555 is the better deal. If you need raw CPU power, go with the Intel system. The HD3000 is still a decent GPU, just not what you want if you plan to do any gaming.

Either Intel or AMD would work. Preferably I'd go with the Intel Core i series laptops as their idle power is less than AMD's.
