    I have just upgraded my Vostro 3750 i3 2350m to an i7 2820qm

once i removed the heatsink i knew there was going to be problems the copper area is the shape of a duel core and not a quad so its never going to be a flush fit
due to the slight height difference between the aluminum and the copper and also it doesnt seem to be able to disipate 45w longterm

when priming core 1/2 are around 79deg core 3/4 are around 72 for the first min
after five mins or so core 1/2 reach 95 and 3/4 86 and promptly get throttled to 1800-2000 mhz

has anyone got a 3750 running a quad core direct from dell if so whats the part number
the sticker can be seen by removing the bottom ram/hd cover on the copper heatpipe

Mine is without a gpu so pref would like to know the p/n of a quad without nvidia gpu
but if pushcomes to shove i would try customizing a heatsink meant with an nvidia gpu

the duel core heatsink looks like below btw

You could also contact Dell's parts department, they'll find the part # for you, they pulled the part # for the M6700 heatsink I ordered and I just crosschecked with the part # that was posted on NBR.

Also i could maybe adapt this G8K4H for Vostro 3750 with nvidia gpu
this would provide the best cooling if i could adapt it it by grinding down areas that get in the way on the gpu area

Here's Dell Part C78V7 for the inspiron 17r fitted to my Vostro 3750
    Its a perfect fit

Old Heatsink Weight 52g new Heatsink Weight 58g

I ran prime 95 8 threads Inplace Max FFT's for just over 20 mins
and the max any core got to was 73 but was usually 68-70

The only problem i have now is when its battery powered the cpu hops between 1600mhz and 1800mhz running prime 95

Core temp indicates 18-25 watts power use

Im not sure if that's by design or due to not having the correct battery for a quad core?

In Contrast when powered by the psu running prime 95 8 threads Max FFT's it runs at 2600mhz constantly
Core Temp Indicates 45 watts power use
