    Hello!

I'm having a hard time finding the answers to some questions I have regarding the Vostro 3560.

I'm debating with myself between buying the T430 or the Vostro 3560. The T430 seems to be build like a tank, but it looks like the 3560 has the better screen.

I am a college student looking for a solid laptop for general use, some mathematical work, programming and probably some 3d rendering in the future (Geophysics major), but not anything too intense. I will also be doing some light gaming on it (RTS, MMO, some FPS).

Both seem like great choices, but here are my questions:

    • How is the 1080p screen on the vostro?
    • Also, how is the battery life? I may pick up the 90 Whr upgrade from dell as it is not too expensive, but what is the weight like and how long does the computer last with this upgrade.
    • I'm assuming that it's pretty easy to replace the primary HDD, but is it possible to replace the optical drive with a secondary HDD?

Thanks for the help! I really appreciate it!

    MasterOfPuffins,
the vostro 3560 and 3460 both have problems with cpu fan moving fast when no apps runing in background, also there wifi speed drops.
I have shared a link you can check it out. Re: Vostro 3450 fan constantly working - Laptop General Hardware Forum - Laptop - Dell Community
and dell has no idea about this solution and say not known issue.

I run my vostro 3460 24/7 with a whole bunch of stuff open (mainly tabs) and haven't noticed any issues with the fan either. That said the fan is rather loud even at its lowest speed, so some people may be bothered by that.

Both the vostro 3460 and 3560 get about 4-5 hours of battery. There's also no 90 WHr battery for them as far as I can tell, so that may be deciding factor for you.
