Hi All i am a newbie here looking around the forums this seems to be the place to come for advice.

Ok, so what i am wanting to do is upgrade the LCD in my 3560, it currently has the 720 panel in that is mediocre at best, i have aquired a FHD panel for it already but have the classic issue of the LVDS cable .

Does anybody have or know the part numebr for the FHD 3560 LVDS cable, i can find the one inmy machine no problem but the FHD seems to be very illusive.

Does anybody have the FHD panel and can have a look at the cable or advide if the Inspiron 15r LVDS is compatible, it looks correct but i am not sure.

Thanks in advance for your help

Well, the 3560 is listed as having a max resolution of 1920x1080 on dell documents. If that's the case, there's a pretty big chance that the lvds cable in your vostro might already be 2-channel.
I recommend you go to a service center and take the lcd cover off, and ask them to let you feed the signal into a full-hd panel with the same connectors, it doesn't even matter what size it is.

You asked about the 15r cable, google how it looks like and compare the shape to your own cable. If the shape is the same and it has the same number of pins, then it most likely works.

Either way, you can just order the part from any dell service center. They'll look up the part number for you. Like I said, vostro 3560 is also sold in full-hd.

Do you upgrade the panel to FHD?

If so which LVDS cable did you use.

    thanks

    Hi there,

I'd be interested in some info here as I also have a Vostro 3560 with an HD panel and willing to swap (can't understand they can sell semi pro laptops with such a low-res screen). I got the FHD panel from Dell (telling them I would like to upgrade/swap and they sent me the screen). I followed the excellent instructions on laptopscreen at https://www.laptopscreen.com/English/model/dell/VOSTRO~3560/

The issue is that I have no image with the new screen plugged-in (LED backlight appears to be working though). Dell tech support made me run the BIOS diagnostics and the screen ran through every primary color while beeping. The tech rep said the code was 'LVDS cable improperly plugged' (whereas I am pretty sure my connection is OK). The head technician will call me back on Tuesday and we'll see.

The LVDS cable is a 40 pin one but reads HD, not FHD. Label is:
    QCL_20_LVDS_CABLE_HD
    DC02001ID10 REV:1.0(A00)
    HIGH-TEK(KCA9) 12:10:19

Original screen is an LG one. Label is :
    KR-053H59-56252-2A5-B3FR-A00
    D/PN : 053H9
    LP156WH4 15.6 HD
    barcode reads 156BAEFT005P3 TR1V

    Cheers,

    Vincent

Edit : that was indeed the VLDS cable. Head technician confirmed and the dual channel cable was sent to me (don't know the part number though). Changing the cable solved the problem. I am now running 1920x1080.
For the record, I am running the config which has 4GB RAM, core i5, 500GB disk and the HD4000 video card.
Dual channel cable label reads (its picture can be found in the Owner's Manual, screen bezel disassembly section):
    QCL20_LVDS_CABLE_FHD
    DC02001GN10 REV: 1.0 (A00)
    HIGH-TEK (KCB13) 12/07/25

Vinz, I am curious as to how satisfied you were after swapping the Vostro's screen? I am about to do the same. I just need to do a bit of research as to which online store is best and can ship to Mexico.

In the end, you only needed the new screen and a dual sided cable, right? That's the one I cannot find where someone will ship it to Mexico.

Could I trouble you in posting some pics if you still have the laptop, please?

    Thanks!
