Vostro 3550 charging problem!

    I usually let the HS spread the paste, even on a laptop. Other forum members may prefer different methods.

    The charge rate automatically slows down once the battery has reached about 80% and becomes a small trickle as 100% is approached. However, I agree that 10 hours is generous but may allow for the computer being in heavy use with not much spare power from the PSU for battery charging.

    The advice of remove once depleted is confusing. The normal advice is to have a battery at around half charge before storage. However, perhaps what the label means is don't leave the battery in when Windows has shut down due to low charge because the background system power drain will eventually drain the battery to zero.
