    I don't have direct experience, but from what I understand of RST you should be able to disable it and use mSATA just like any other SATA disk. Dell's unlikely to support booting off of mSATA. If you're able to disable RST though you should be able to boot off the mSATA if trick the bootloader like I did.

    Hey guys! great thread, superparamagnetic! it answered most questions I had!
    But there is still one left, just to be sure:
    I'm thinking about replacing my 32gb mSATA with a 128gb mSATA, both manufactured by samsung.
    But the thing is, the 32gb one uses 0.7Ampere, and the 128gb one uses 125Ampere. Do you think I should be concerned about this?
    Do you know much current does your Crucial M4 128gb mSata use?

    Has anyone been able to boot a Ubuntu 12.10 live usb on the Vostro 3460.

    A new bios update is out. A15 was released on 3/18/13, I have no idea what it's supposed to fix.
