If you have a Vostro 3450, what BIOS version are you running? Mine shipped with A08 and I'm trying to figure out why it's not available for download from Dell. I've ordered 4 of these notebooks for various things at work and I've noticed mine is the only one able to manually switch graphics cards because of the updated A08 BIOS. All the ones I've ordered are A07.

Mine came with A06. A07 was released in October, and after installing it I was able to choose the "Switchable Graphics Method" in Catalyst Control Center.
Could you post more details on your BIOS version? If you open System Information, what date does it report? Mine is A07/20.09.2011.
Also, you mentioned switchable graphics, are you able to switch graphics in BIOS? If so, this is actually the solution many 3450 owners are seeking, and you could make a great contribution by dumping your BIOS and sharing it with others.

Dell released version A10 for Vostro 3450 a couple of days ago.
Unfortunately, still no switchable graphics setting in BIOS...
