    i have had my vostro for 3 months
    i have itunes on it.......mcafee on it,my start up has diminished to about a 2 and a half min lag time to connect to wifi signal at home?

    is this due to the useless mcafee on my system.......what are of my computer can i go to and readjust my laptop for a quicker start up???

    i'm new to laptops and wifi stuff but its ok
    thanks for your time my speed is only 54.0mbps

    In my opinion Mcafee and norton are junk. I use avaste on my home computers and it works great to me. It doesn't slow down my pc and it has detected viruses on things I was downloading so I was able to stop them and delete them.
    Mcaffe and norton would detect them to and maybe be a bit more smart on viruses but they really really slow down your computer and it's not really worth it.

    ive looked off google and did not find your recommended product ......................................
    any ideas of others so i can get rid of mcafee?

    Kinda... The home edition is free but you still have to register and get a free key via email. The pro version is something like $20.
