    Hi all.
Purchased this machine a few months ago.
Although generally pleased with my machine, I've had a few niggly problems since day 1, mainly appliacation hangs, browser crashes, shutdown problems etc.
At first I thought it could be Mcaffee but ruled this out by using a different security suite. So then I decided it must be Vista, with its well documented problems.
Tried a couple of factory restores, to no avail. Tried another factory restore last week, the only difference this time was that I didnt download the updated drivers from the Dell support site and 'touch wood', so far the machine has been excellent, no crashes/hangs and multitasking superbly.
I think the next step is to download the drivers one at a time and see if I can find the culprit.
Any other Vostro 1510 owners out there had similar experiences?
    Any tips/information to share?
    Thanks
    Jeff

Been running Vista Business and have had zero issues with it (had the machine about a month).

Btw, how are you load/idle temps?

Temperatures are fine, CPU around 42 and GPU around 57.
I'm totally convinced it's one of the driver updates on the Dell site.
I'm going to have to go through the process of dowloading them one at a time and testing to see if I can isolate the problem, although I may just use the ones marked urgent.
Was hoping somebody else may have had these issues.

Have you installed any of the driver updates from Dell's site?

yea I've got all the latest driver updates ( and bios ), but i wish I could get 42c on proc

even w/ the copper mod and as5 on the proc, i idle about 55 on the cpu, 59 on gpu

i've had no problems either... well except for one.

occaisionally, if I let the computer sleep for an extended time (hours) it won't resume and i have to do a hard reboot, other than that things run fine.

    maybe you should contact dell.

Just thought I'd post an update on this.
After reformatting and loading and testing the updated drivers, I'm pretty convinced it's the Wireless card driver.
As soon as updated to A22 I started to get problems, browser hangs, crashes etc.
I've rolled back to A17 and it's now fine.
Is anybody else using A22 and having problems?
    Thanks
    Jeff
