    Hi all,

I purchased a vostro 1510 laptop 3 months ago with XP Pro pre-installed and have had no problems up until today. It originally started freezing when using Firefox and Openoffice, so uninstalled Firefox and went back to IE7. It was fine for a couple of hours before freezing again. It has freezed literally 7 times today, usually when switching between word processor and web browser, or being left alone for a couple of minutes without use. However when it freezes the mouse still moves?! I have to force shut down each time. My house mate did a check disk and it found errors and rectified itself. Was fine again for a couple hours before starting to do it again. It has been plugged into the wall all day. Any ideas? I am about to throw the bloody thing against the wall. Please help.
    Cheers,

Beyond using check disk which is a good start, I suggest using a Registry Checker, such as Registry Booster. Also try cleanng out the cooling vents, as that Laptop has some age on it.

Sounds like heat, memory or device driver conflict as the major culprits..
