    I am considering a Dell Vostro 1510: Pentium Core 2 Duo 1.8MHz/800 Mhz, 2 Gb, 80 Gb (5400 rpm), 15.4 (16:10, 1280 x 800, Intel X3100), DVD RW, WXP. Since I work at my desk 95%+ of the time, I want to get a 24" monitor, 1920 x 1200, to use with it.

I'm getting different answers from different folks at Dell (three different individuals so far) to the question, "Will the Vostro 1510 with Intel X3100 and a 1280 x 800 integral panel support an external monitor at 1920 x 1200 resolution?"

Can anyone tell me if the V1510 with support a Samsung 2493 HM through the VGA port--at 1920 x 1200? Intel's specs are clear, as is the VGA spec (Yes!). So far, Dell has not been. I need solid verification before I lay out the bucks.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Actually the maximum resolution VGA can output is 1920 x 1200. It will not do more. ;)
