Better build quality, best bang for your buck notebook out there =1500

Poorer build quality, light and thin =1510

    IMO 1500 > 1510

I like the new lids of the 1510. It also depends on your budget too. You can get the same build on the 1500 for $150+ less. You might want to get the 1500 soon if you decide on that because it might go away like the 1400!

Yeah, Dell has the 30 day return policy without shipping or re-stocking costs.

Right peeps. I got the new 1500 yesterday.

I still have the 1510 at home as it is being collected on Monday. I can say first hand that the 1500 is miles better.

The 1500 does not look as good as the 1510, but i am more than happy with the build of the 1500, thee 1500 feels so much sturdier. If you need a machine to type on quite alot, the 1500 has a rock solid keyboard.

The two machines i have are listed below with their specs:-

    Vostro 1510:

    core 2 due 2.1ghz
    3 gig Ram
    160 gig 5400rpm h/d
    bluetooth
    wireless N
    WUXGA screen
    1.3 m/p webcam
    6 cell battery
    XP Pro
    8400 GS
Privce inc VAT and delivery £583

    Vostro 1500:

    Core 2 duo 2.2 ghz
    3 gig of Ram
    120 gig h/d 5400 rpm
    bluetooth
    Wireles intel A/B/G
    WSXGA screen
    2 m/p webcam6 cell battery
    XP Pro
    8600GT

Price inc VAT and delivery £437

I must say listening to reviews on here and taking the gamble i am glad i ordered the 1500 and i am now returning the 1510. Although i do like the 1510 machine, the build is no where near as good when compared to the 1500, the wireless N card is slower than the Intel A/B/G i now have.

If you want a light portable nice machine well worth the price get the 1510. If you want a heavier rocksolid sturdy game machine get the 1500......

^^^ I agree with your assessment. I own a Vostro 1500 and 1700 and while I had the chance to buy a 1510 it never entered my mind. The original Vostro's feel solid and well built compared to the 1510.

Besides I already own a T60 so I wasn't nearly compelled to buy a 1510. Congrats on your purchase. :)
